Thank you [livejournal.com profile] buhfly and [livejournal.com profile] urbanfae for this: video of Kellen Lutz's Calvin Klein X photoshoot (embedded at B's journal).

Thing One: Though we all know I'm going to go see Eclipse anyway (it's kind of this thing now), if Emmett walked around in his underwear during the whole thing (or even shirtless, goddamn), I'd enjoy it a lot more.

Thing Two: Maybe I need to be writing that new foursome story after all. UNF.

Thing Three: I would love it if the Emmett and Rosalie dream I had was updated to include this. UNF UNF GOOD GODDAMN UNF

Oh yeah, totally shallow.

Sick, so very sick, but too dizzy to lie down anymore. Urgh.

I keep seeing adverts for the New Moon movie that go (more or less) like this: Some will try to destroy her. Some will rise to defend her. But only one will risk everything for her.

So let me get this straight. Edward tries to kill himself by public sparkling and that's risking everything for her?

This is going to be bad. I mean, I didn't expect it to be good, but considering I think Twilight was the best movie they could have made from the source material, I expected maybe so-bad-it's-good. I don't think that's what will happen, though.
escritoireazul: (jurassic park monsters)
For some reason, today I decided I needed to watch the baseball scene from Twilight a couple times. I don't know why! This is like a sickness.

I have thoughts. Again. Many the same thoughts I had the first time I saw it, but I am going to share them again.

Animal Pet Names, Gender Imbalance in Speed, and a GODDAMN BADASS WITH A BASEBALL BAT )

Basically, I am left with this. Writing queer, kinky, sexually explicit stories in this fandom shouldn't feel as good as it does, considering how much I hate the source material.

Also? Carlisle's Kinky Vampire House o' Love is probably my favorite thing I've come up with this month. Maybe this year. <3

I'm finally reading [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's recap of Midnight Sun (which is a partial draft of Twilight from Edward's point of view). I think I started it before, but never finished it. Reading this has inspired me to start reading Midnight Sun itself (much like reading the recap made me get Breaking Dawn), which is available for free at SMeyer's website. It's the first half, I think, and I'm not sure it will ever be finished, which makes me kind of sad.

As usual, I couldn't care less about Edward and Bella, but oh, my foursome continues to be FABULOUS.

spoilers for this rewrite of Twilight which may never be finished )

And so, inspired by this, I've been looking at [livejournal.com profile] twilight_slash just to see if there are any other foursome writers out there, and, um, not so much. I see a lot of:

+ Edward/Jasper
+ Alice/Bella (Well, duh. Alice brings the homoeroticism like woah.)
+ Rosalie/Bella
+ Carlisle/Jacob (Huh. I do believe that Carlisle likes the boys as well as the girls, but I hadn't put this one together. I will think on it some.)
+ Far less Edward/Seth than I expected.
+ Edward/Jasper/Alice (Yay for more than two!)
+ FINALLY EMMETT/JASPER THANK YOU WORLD

So basically I want to write lots and lots of foursome. Yeah.

Speaking of my boy Emmett, [livejournal.com profile] crimson_keys asked for prompts awhile back, and I suggested Emmett and Paul (from The Lost Boys) because Emmett is hot and funny and Paul is (in fandom at least) hilarious. (No, seriously, I was looking for the funny. If I wanted the hot, I would have requested Emmett, Rosalie, and Dwayne, and, um, maybe I shouldn't let myself get distracted by that train of thought.)

ANYWAY. Keya wrote the story, and she brought the hot, but she also brought the emotional depth. "Battling Demons" has Paul and Emmett being funny, and being hot, and then being serious and deep (and bisexual). It wasn't at all what I expected, and I'm a little surprised I love it, because of the subject matter, but I do. (Warning for possible triggery self-injury.) And mostly it is disturbingly, deliciously hot in the way I like my vampires.

Also lately I have been reading [livejournal.com profile] azephirin's "Cracked Stars Shining", which is a Harry Potter/Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer crossover of epic proportions. It has Hermione/Dean (and Genevera/Sam, though it's told from Hermione's point of view (mostly) and so the focus is H/D) and some really hot sex. There are a bunch of appearances by other characters, most of which I can see as fantastic extrapolations from the source (though Spike reads more to me like Hank McCoy from X-Men). It's a long story, 165k and counting, and it is incomplete. I really enjoyed it, though, and there's a scene which pretty much crystalizes what I'm looking for in a male bottom or submissive, which is, you know, not exactly submission except in that moment, that scene, that bit of sex. Yeah. I really, really like this story, and I can't wait for more.

(Speaking of TLB, I'm watching Tales from the Darkside, and I finally found a werewolf episode, and the kid is reading Fangoria in a way which reminds me SO MUCH of Sam reading the vampire comics in TLB it made me grin. Also, I totally called the "plot twist" which just goes to show that I know far too much about werewolf stories. That or I am one with media, which is what Keya thinks. That or there really is nothing new under the sun.)

I really should be working on Yuletide if I'm going to procrastinate from studying, but I am not. Instead I am writing a Rosalie and Emmett sex scene. Between this, fic for Fast and the Furious, and some of my non-fanfic writing, people are going to think I have a car fetish. They might not be wrong, either.
escritoireazul: (twilight jasper bat)
Am I writing my Yuletide fic? No, of course not, even though that's how I should be procrastinating.

Instead, I've managed to write a thousand words of the Cullen-Hale foursome. What's happened to me? Really? How did this become the fandom thing I think about most often? How?

(Notice, I don't ask when. It become my favorite fandom of lulz when I was in the middle of [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda's Breaking Dawn recap and realized I had to go buy the book because I needed to read the crack. As for fic, well, if Rosalie and Emmett weren't so goddamn hot, this never would have happened. Also, Jasper and his bat. And Alice, full stop.)

I actually have thoughts about Jasper and the bat, but I'll save them for later. I'm closing the laptop now.

[livejournal.com profile] cleolinda WROTE TWILIGHT IN FIFTEEN MINUTES AND I SWEAR TO GOD MY LIFE IS SHINIER - SPARKLIER!!!! - THAN EVER BEFORE!

And there are pictures. And I will make icons.

And OMFG y'all this has actually become my fandom, hasn't it? TWILIGHTLULZ (TWILULZ?) is my FANDOM!

I kind of want to weep now. And also have dodgy moresomes with some of the movie characters.

(You guys, I am actually EXCITED that they are making another movie. I think I've been drugged. Or I'm under a spell. Or my brain has actually melted.)

(If anyone has a picture of Rosalie and Victoria in the baseball scene - YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT THE HOT PART - I would love it, because the only baseball scene pictures I've seen don't include their part of it.)

I am also hoping a certain SOMEONE writes a certain CROSSOVER putting OTHER VAMPIRE CHARACTERS into the TWILIGHT STORY. (I said plot at first, but there is not so much of that.) Because that would also be LULZ.

I have been reading [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda for AT LEAST four years now and she never ceases to bring joy into my world. JOY AND SPARKLY THINGS AND HILARITY.
escritoireazul: (blue crush family)
Since I can't rewatch the movie right now, I am rereading the series in preparation for writing the dodgy foursome fic. (It is possible that reading this crap again is going to melt my brain, by the way. The things I do to write dodgy foursomes.) It is really, truly horrible - it's even worse after having seen the movie, which was better (though, not good).

I am clinging to the little things.

slight spoiler for Twilight the book )
escritoireazul: (jurassic park monsters)
I'm trying to watch Fringe. I've been trying to watch the first episode ever since it aired, and have yet to make it all the way through. Today I finally managed to make it to Josh Jackson's introduction, which is farther than ever before. Maybe I'll actually finish it. I'm not sure why I am so determined to watch this show, except that it seems like it should be right up my alley and I don't understand why I haven't been able to get into it at all.

Plus, though The Mighty Ducks fandom and then Dawsons Creek people coming into the fandom kind of ruined JJack for me, I do like some of his work, and think this could be fun.

---

As for the Twilight girl slash percolating in my brain, the biggest down side to watching it is that I would really need to go see the movie again, and even though I had fun, I'm not interested in paying more money to see it again. Now, I could wait until it was available from Netflix, but that means sitting on these stories for a long time. I will have to consider this. Of course, I'm pretty busy the next couple weeks, so I shouldn't be writing fic anyway, except for Yuletide.
escritoireazul: (resident evil girlfriends)
I have seen the sparkle.

spoilers )

Now I'm watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. Did I ever tell you that I was in love with Worf as a kid? Oh yeah. And Captain Picard always reminded me of my dad in some ways. Okay, honestly, it's likely I still have a thing for Worf. Yum.

Despite my dislike for fluffy telepathic stuff and emotion reading, etc., Deanna was also on my radar back then.

Possibly more Twilight thoughts later, and good god, I almost want to write girl slash. Someone stop me.

I was looking forward to the Twilight movie for mocking and the recap I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda will do, but there's this trailer playing on tv which I hadn't seen before, that has James making some sort of lion-like noise, and, um, there is suddenly another reason to go watch it. James, Laurent, and Victoria are hot, and James, with that hair (I have this thing for guys with hair like that, practically the only time I like blonds) and the animal sound and the movement - hot.

I need to watch Never Back Down. He doesn't have the hair in it, but he's ripped and tattooed and, yes please. Funny(ish) story, when I was visiting J. two weekends ago, he rented this movie because he wanted to watch the scene where one fighter does all these fancy kicks and flips and then gets knocked straight down by one hard punch. The movie we needed was NBD, the movie we got - was not.

Two movie things I've noted today.

One, in An American Werewolf in London, when the nurses are talking about David while he's unconscious, one says he looks like a Jew, and when asked, says she knows the look. I always thought she meant the hair; I'd never caught Alex's line about how it's common practice these days. Hee. Totally not the hair then.

Two, in Cursed, I love the scene where Jake and Ellie are talking about the decorations at his new club and he talks about the medieval torture device and then says it could be fun later, innuendo in his voice. How kinky there, Jake. I also really like the (not so subtle) foreshadowing when he says he just wants to crawl into bed and disappear for three days. SUBTLE.

I love this time of year. Werewolf movies all over my tv, horror in the air - it's a good time to be alive, even if I don't want to leave my apartment, even if I don't want to do anything. At least I have horror to keep myself busy. Werewolves.

On Halloween itself, I'll be waiting for J. and my dad to bring me a different vehicle. I don't have class, and I plan to clean, of course, but also to have a werewolf movie marathon. My copy of Cursed isn't here (I think it's in the one last box from this summer, which got sent to my parents' house, and Dad is bringing it Friday), but I have all three Ginger Snaps movies; the werewolf episodes of Buffy, Angel, and Supernatural; The Beast of Bray Road; Cursed from tv, so the rated version I've not seen since the theater; Darkwolf; The Howling; Sleepwalkers, though technically not werewolves; and, to really stretch it, The Village, which I prefer so much more when I pretend it is a werewolf movie. Plus whatever else I can dvr before then, and I have a ton of other horror movies, and maybe there's a Dresden Files werewolf episode, I should research that, since I still haven't watched the dvds I own.

This past weekend wasn't very relaxing, and this week isn't going to be relaxing, and so I'll be glad to have a break, finally.

So as [livejournal.com profile] raz0rgirl and I were discussing the other day, we have invested way too much time in Twilight and its fandom for all that it isn't a fandom either of us claim. I'd call it my anti-fandom, but that's not quite right, either. I don't even know how to explain it, but the crack is awesome.

So on that note, here are more Twilight good cracky times.

[livejournal.com profile] stoney321 is recapping the series with commentary on the Mormon influence, which I've been desperately wanting to read. Book One | Book Two. (More to come.) There are pictures and details and it is hilarious.

And THEN [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda is recapping the parts of Midnight Sun available on the author's website, and apparently Growing Up Cullen (you remember, where I fell in love with Emmett) is pretty much CANON now, thank god.

Part One (More to come.)

I cannot wait for the movie, because I cannot wait for more of this delicious snark.

---

In other news, I am no longer in Washington and I really miss it.
escritoireazul: (lost boys troublemakers)
So there's this thing, Growing Up Cullen, which I found absolutely hilarious when I read it the other day. (To be fair, I'd had no sleep, so it might not be quite so completely fantastic when you are well-rested, but I'm guessing it's still pretty funny.) Thanks to this, I kind of want to have a threesome with Rosalie and Emmett. (Except that Rosalie is so much less awesome in book four, but whatever.)
escritoireazul: (Default)
I knew there would be some sort of Twilight Forks tour or something. It makes me wish all my favorite snarkers were here with me to go, you know, snark on location or something.

(Poor Forks, they didn't even film the movie there. It looks like a cute little town.)

You guys, I am totally going to go see this movie and then devour the snark about it, because I can't stop reading the snark about the books. (Which, for the record, I own.)

Also, I want non-crappy supernatural stories to be written about the Pacific Northwest because it is amazing here. So, any suggestions?
