Dear Trick or Treat Creator,

Halloween is my favorite holiday and fall my favorite season, so Trick or Treat is an awesome mix of things I love combined with fandoms I adore. I had a blast last year, and I can’t wait to see your creation.

Below, I’ve provided some general likes and Do Not Wants, as well as a few thoughts about why I like specific fandoms and characters. If there is a discrepancy between the general likes and DNWs and the fandom-specific information, go with the fandom-specific information. I like both fic and art, and my prompts generally work for both. Feel free to mix and match tricks and treats, within a fandom or across fandoms, or to ignore my prompts completely.

My absolutely favorite things: werewolves, crossovers, and monsters and magic.

You can find me on DW, LJ, and AO3 as escritoireazul.

Likes:

+ girl slash, gen, and het more than boy slash, mostly because I really love stories about women
+ women being awesome and competent and smart and funny and sexy
+ werewolves and werewolf packs as families and women being amazing werewolves and werewolf alternate universes in any canon and full moons over the ocean
+ chosen families being loving and protective and a little snarly with each other because they trust each other to always be there and adoption stories where adoption is treated as totally normal and not a BIG DRAMATIC SECRET to up the tension and siblings as friends and friends as family
+ Halloween and horror movies
+ roadtrip stories and motorcycle rides
+ crossovers, the more twisty and complicated the better.

Do Not Want:
+ disrespect for characters of color, queer characters (particularly bisexual and trans* characters), fat characters, or characters with mental illness
+ character bashing
+ rape and non-con and dub-con (including as backstory)
+ use of "crazy" to mean bad or dangerous or scary, etc.
+ stories set at mental hospitals, whether currently active or abandoned
+ embarrassment/humiliation
+ animal cruelty or death
+ incest
+ spiders. Especially in art, but sometimes even the word is enough to get to me.

Dear Trick or Treat Author,

I am thrilled to participate in Trick or Treat this year. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and fall my favorite season, so Trick or Treat feels like an awesome mix of things I love combined with fandoms I adore. Good times.

I can't wait to read your story or see your art. I've provided a little bit of information about things I do and do not want, along with a few thoughts about why I like particular fandoms and characters, but mostly I want you to have fun creating. Don't let any prompts or thoughts below stress you out. I love both fic and art. Feel free to mix and match tricks and treats, within a fandom or across fandoms.

Dear Yuletide Author,

Thank you so much for writing me a story. I love Yuletide; it is my favorite fannish time of the year and truly one of the best parts of the holiday season. Please don't stress too much about your story, because I know I will love it.

In general, I like girl slash, gen, and het more than boy slash, mostly because I really love stories about women being awesome. I also like werewolves, stories about families being loving and protective and a little snarly with each other because they trust each other to always be there, and smart flirtations. I like stories of all ratings, I'm a fan of consensual kink, and I love stories about oral sex and pegging and women who really love sex. I love poly stories, threesomes and foursomes and moresomes, as long as it is consensual and not cheating. I adore intricate plots and mysteries to solve and friends teaming up to save the world. I like straightforward prose, lyrical pieces, and experimental work. I love adoption stories when adoption is treated as something totally normal and not a BIG DRAMATIC SECRET to up the tension. I love siblings as friends and families who are super tight. I love the ocean, full moons, surfing, autumn, Halloween, horror movies, and long roadtrips.

I dislike embarrassment/humiliation, rape, non-con, misogyny, racism, ableism, fat phobia, character-bashing, and women feeling guilty about enjoying sex. I am particularly frustrated right now by mental illness being used as a pejorative.

For Yuletide, I mostly prefer stories that are more light than dark and stories with happy endings, though that doesn't mean it has to be a traditionally happy ending. As long as the characters are happy, that's the sort of ending I want.

I tag everything, so if you want to know more, take a look at the tags. They're pretty user friendly, I think.

Now for my requests.

I was looking forward to the Twilight movie for mocking and the recap I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda will do, but there's this trailer playing on tv which I hadn't seen before, that has James making some sort of lion-like noise, and, um, there is suddenly another reason to go watch it. James, Laurent, and Victoria are hot, and James, with that hair (I have this thing for guys with hair like that, practically the only time I like blonds) and the animal sound and the movement - hot.

I need to watch Never Back Down. He doesn't have the hair in it, but he's ripped and tattooed and, yes please. Funny(ish) story, when I was visiting J. two weekends ago, he rented this movie because he wanted to watch the scene where one fighter does all these fancy kicks and flips and then gets knocked straight down by one hard punch. The movie we needed was NBD, the movie we got - was not.

Two movie things I've noted today.

One, in An American Werewolf in London, when the nurses are talking about David while he's unconscious, one says he looks like a Jew, and when asked, says she knows the look. I always thought she meant the hair; I'd never caught Alex's line about how it's common practice these days. Hee. Totally not the hair then.

Two, in Cursed, I love the scene where Jake and Ellie are talking about the decorations at his new club and he talks about the medieval torture device and then says it could be fun later, innuendo in his voice. How kinky there, Jake. I also really like the (not so subtle) foreshadowing when he says he just wants to crawl into bed and disappear for three days. SUBTLE.

I love this time of year. Werewolf movies all over my tv, horror in the air - it's a good time to be alive, even if I don't want to leave my apartment, even if I don't want to do anything. At least I have horror to keep myself busy. Werewolves.

On Halloween itself, I'll be waiting for J. and my dad to bring me a different vehicle. I don't have class, and I plan to clean, of course, but also to have a werewolf movie marathon. My copy of Cursed isn't here (I think it's in the one last box from this summer, which got sent to my parents' house, and Dad is bringing it Friday), but I have all three Ginger Snaps movies; the werewolf episodes of Buffy, Angel, and Supernatural; The Beast of Bray Road; Cursed from tv, so the rated version I've not seen since the theater; Darkwolf; The Howling; Sleepwalkers, though technically not werewolves; and, to really stretch it, The Village, which I prefer so much more when I pretend it is a werewolf movie. Plus whatever else I can dvr before then, and I have a ton of other horror movies, and maybe there's a Dresden Files werewolf episode, I should research that, since I still haven't watched the dvds I own.

This past weekend wasn't very relaxing, and this week isn't going to be relaxing, and so I'll be glad to have a break, finally.
