My plan for the summer television hiatus is to WRITE ALL THE THINGS. ALL THE THINGS. (And to take a break from the parts of fandom full of ableist, racist, classist, misogynistic bullshit. UGH, FANDOM, DO NOT WANT.)

Anyway, I thought I should make a (n ongoing) list of the things I want to write, starting with my three day weekend this weekend. (And starting with my horrifically overdue [Bad username or site: femslash_minis" @ livejournal.com] story, because I suck.)

1. femslash_minis Wishverse (BtVS)
2. Rachel Berry Likes It Rough (Glee, poly family, Lauren/Rachel)
3. Even Badasses Break (Glee, poly family, Lauren/Finn, Lauren/Puck, Lauren/Finn/Quinn, Lauren/Quinn, Finn/Quinn/Puck, Finn/Puck, Lauren/Puck/Finn/Quinn)
4. We're Gonna Rule the School (Glee, poly family, Mercedes/Quinn)
5. Badasses Gotta Badass (Glee, poly family, Lauren and Quinn become bffs)
6. Bisexual Boys Exist, Goddamnit (Glee, poly family, Sam/Mike)
7. Love Story of a Boy and His Guitar (Glee, poly family, Sam loves his guitar and his glee family)
8. Dirtbike Boys and Girls (Glee, poly family, Brittany and Burt bonding)
9. Stomp It Up (Glee, poly family, Puck and Finn)
10. Marching Band AU (there are many stories and they are legion)
11. Girls Just Want to Have Fun (New Directions girl orgy)
12. Kinky Prom (Glee, poly family, Lauren/Puck, Tina/Mike)
13. Like Balloon Animals (Glee, poly family, Puck gives everyone hickeys)
14. the rest of the Lauren/Puck/Tina/Mike stories
15. many meme_fic fills and prompt fills

Those are the Glee fic (plus that first one) I have in progress. Also, I will totally take prompts; I'm hoping to do a lot of fic writing this summer, in addition to my non-fic writing. (Big goals for that too.)

In particular, I'd love crossover prompts that involve werewolves.

Just watching the fun performances -- and mostly skipping the ones that focus on Rachel Berry -- is an excellent way to experience the show. Oh yeah.

Girl kissing sneaked its way into my slightly kinky underage sexy heterosexual Glee fic. How'd that happen? It has also hit 5000 words. How did that happen?

I don't feel well and I have a lot to do this weekend, but I am taking tonight and spending it in bed with my laptop and some tea and some fic writing. Screw everything else. I need some time to relax.

(You know what would make me happy, fandom? Well, lots of things, but at this particular second, a collection of all the scenes where Puck grinds on things. His guitar. His umbrella. His freaking hat. Dear god. Also, whoever has been putting hot people in hats on this show is awesome.)

(So much of this show makes me really, really mad, but I do not have it in me to deal with that tonight.)

Last December, I wrote Thirty-One Days of the Wolf, a daily drabble to celebrate the end of the year and the winter holidays. I took some prompts, but a lot wasn't prompted. This year, I'd like to write a drabble a day again (with some of them maybe becoming ficlets).

Here's where you come in. The first thirty-one prompts left here will become drabbles. Since I don't know that thirty-one people will want fic, you can request multiple prompts, but 1) leave each prompt in a different comment and 2) I may not fill multiple prompts from the same person in order.

I have written in forty fandoms (or so, depending on how you count them), which I will include below, so you have a lot of choices for your prompting. However, if there is a fandom in which I haven't written and you either know I am familiar with the source material or can help me become familiar with it, you can leave a prompt for it, too. I will update this post with the number of prompts received as I can and am accepting comments at both LJ and DW.

December writing, here we go!

Fandoms I've Previously Written: (1) Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel (2) The Lost Boys (3) The Mighty Ducks (4) X-Men movieverse (5) Harry Potter movieverse and bookverse (6) Ultimate X-Men (7) The Fast and the Furious series (8) Pitch Black/The Chronicles of Riddick (9) Mean Girls (10) Bend It Like Beckham (11) Lost (12) Firefly/Serenity (13) Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (14) Supernatural (15) Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic (16) Dog Soldiers (17) Dead Witch Walking (18) The Baby-Sitters Club/California Diaries (19) Full House (20) Blue Crush (21) Girlfight (22) Resident Evil (23) Dawson's Creek (24) Bring It On (25) The Breed (26) Making Out (27) Lilo & Stitch (28) Stick It (29) She's the Man (30) One Tree Hill (31) Pirates of the Caribbean (32) Twilight (33) Jurassic Park (34) Southern Vampire series (35) Roseanne (36) Sons of Anarchy (37) Never Cry Werewolf (38) Scooby Doo Where Are You?/Scooby Doo on Zombie Island (39) Practical Magic (40) fairy tales (Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White)

Stop! Self-awareness time!

I was reading this fantastic post in which [personal profile] toft talks about Mercedes Lackey's books and I realized why I have so little patience for -- well, I'll put it in [personal profile] toft's words:

7) I love that all of the books that I've read so far punch my talented-outcast-child-is-rescued-from-family-and-excels-at-school narrative kink right in the kidneys and throw it down the stairs. In a good way.

Now I read this post after watching the first three Harry Potter movies with Mom (one last night, two today) and even though I've seen them before and read the books and wrote fanfic, damn it, it struck me really hard how much of an idiot Harry is a lot of the time and how things just fall in his lap. Sometimes literally.

And don't get me wrong, I love the first four Harry Potter books a lot. (The movies not as much and the last three not nearly as much, but the first four, particularly three and four, SO MUCH LOVE.) And I also love the Mercedes Lackey books I've read, which isn't very many, I'll admit, but I read the Arrows trilogy and then BY THE SWORD which has KEROWYN I'LL KICK YOUR GODDAMN ASS AND YOU'LL LIKE IT who is my hero, so obviously I'm a fan of that one, too.

But frequently these talented-outcast-child-rescued-from-family-and-excels-at-[fill in the blank] narratives really bug me. While reading [personal profile] toft's post I finally figured out why, even though it is really obvious if you know me at all: Basically every awesome thing I have ever done is because I am trying to live up to the awesomeness of my family. No, really, they've set the bar high and it just keeps getting pushed higher. Even though I don't directly follow in anyone's footsteps, what I do is done so I can be as awesome as my family. So of course I don't grok that narrative the way some others might.

Not very awesome that it took me that long to figure it out, but whatever.

(By the way, as we're watching Harry Potter, Mom turns to me and says she doesn't understand why people threw such a fit over Harry Potter being satanic or whatever, nothing they did magically seemed all that bad and I said I thought it was just the idea of ~magic in the first place that was so horrible. She scoffed and said that was ridiculous, kids should grow up with magical stories and reading stories about magic doesn't make them bad Christians. Oh, Mom, you are the best conservative, Christian mother ever! [Though obviously conservative doesn't apply to Christian in that sentence.] Oh, speaking of conservatives, I am not adjusting well to being back in a small town in a red state. Today some guy came around talking about politicians because we're running up on the November election and ads and calls and door to door is going wild. Anyway, dude told me politician is a Democrat and liberal in [these ways], but still conservative, too, in [these ways] and is pro life. I don't think he expected me to say, well, those liberal things are really good, but the pro life thing is generally a deal breaker for me. Too liberal for the liberals here, what?)

~*~

Sons of Anarchy comes back this week! I think I will liveblog it, because OMG FINALLY. J and I were talking the other night and he said the adverts make it look like it's going to be very soap opera-y and the season finale was very much a soap opera. I laughed and said even if it is, if I kept watching after [that thing with Gemma last season], I'll give them a season of being a soap opera before I quit them.

The Vampire Diaries comes back, too, but I rarely talk about that here. Maybe that will change this season. Because [THINGS! THINGS WHICH ARE SPOILERS!]

~*~

I am tired, but I am waiting on a thing and I pulled up my [livejournal.com profile] werewolfbigbang, which I keep thinking I won't finish, but the first draft isn't due until later this month, so maybe I will finish. I'm writing a sequel to "wolf woman wild," but I keep wanting to write some ridiculous crossover (er, even more ridiculous than "wolf woman wild" which has BtVS, Angel, Fast and the Furious series, and Ginger Snaps) about a wolf pack that contains characters from BtVS, Fast and the Furious series, Sons of Anarchy, Harry Potter, etc. I do not need to set aside the sequel and write 10k of a ridiculous crossover. I don't.

(Dude, Sons of Anarchy basically is a werewolf pack without being werewolves. And how awesome would it be to have Oz and Faith, Letty and Dom and Mia, Jax and Opie and Donna and Tara, Remus and Sirius, Clay and Gemma all in a wolf pack together? Hell, let's really make it ridiculous and throw in Sam and Dean and John and Mary Winchester and, GOD, Ellen and Jo Harvelle, because obviously after Race Wars, Jesse runs off and becomes Ash. Hell, Chad Lindberg himself brings together Fast and the Furious, Supernatural, and Sons of Anarchy. If I really wanted to go wild, I know I could work in Velma and Daphne.

Good grief, I'm actually considering this.)

~*~

THING is done, so I can go to bed! Except now I'm thinking about the damn ridiculous crossover.

ETA: It has taken me five billion edits to get the coding right, even though I swear I was using the same coding I'd been using since I started crossposting from DW. WHAT THE HELL?

Meme that [livejournal.com profile] fox1013 tweaked and which I am now tweaking again (possibly back to the original, I didn't check). I am watching The Forsaken which is such a The Lost Boys rip-off, but still cheesy fun, and working on a back-up fanfic. I'm exhausted and relaxed and enjoying the neat weather changes outside and the cool breeze, so I'm looking for more stories to write for people.

So, if you request a character from any fandom with which I'm familiar and match it with one of the scenarios, I'll write you a ficlet. Good times for all. If you have a question about familiar fandoms, just ask, or go ahead and request and I'll either give it a try or let you know I have no clue.

I started reorganizing my fic files the other day, after I backed them up, and I realized I have a lot of awesome fic in progress and maybe if I post about them, I will finish them. (I'm also trying to convince myself to finish what I already have in progress and not start, oh, this Twilight fic which came to me almost fully formed this morning while I was thinking about one of the technicalities of having sex with vampires who have cold marble hard skin or the Jurassic Park II/Bring it On/Stick It fic about gymnasts being awesome together.)

So on to the meme.

File Title: Wolf Woman Wild sequel
Words: 1000+

I started this when I was trying to figure out what to write for the I Will Remember You 2009 challenge, and though I pulled pieces of it for the fic I eventually wrote for it (and though I've now written a different sequel to Wolf Woman Wild), I really like this story, which addresses how Fast & Furious would fit into the universe of "Wolf Woman Wild."

excerpt )

File Title: Boy Meets World and Fast and the Furious crossover
Words: 600+

Awhile back, [personal profile] thestalkycop was on a huge BMW kick and convinced me to write some fic for her. This is one of the two I really liked but never finished.

Excerpt )

File Title: Supernatural, Boy Meets World, and BtVS
Words: 600+

This is the other BMW fic I started for The Girl, and the one I liked a lot better, because it involves one of my favorite things, which is to turn a character into a Vampire Slayer.

Excerpt )

File Title: Crossover of Doom (Fast and the Furious, Sons of Anarchy, BtVS, and Supernatural, supposedly)
Words: 1000+

This is an alternate universe high school fic with lots of romance and present day heartache and adventures and women becoming vampire slayers, etc.

excerpt )

I'm going to get away from the crossovers file, or I'll be here all day. (There are at least two other Fast and the Furious/Sons of Anarchy stories in progress and four BtVS/F&tF.)

File Title: Say Hello to Your Friends, and Good-bye (Eight ways Dawn Schafer never said good-bye.) (Set during The Baby-Sitters Club #88 "Farewell Dawn")
Words: 700+

I love variations of "Fire Things" fic, and I love themed fic (which -- is basically why I love "Five Things" fic, I guess), and I really like the bits of this I have written.

Excerpt )

Okay then, that was fun. What are you writing these days?
escritoireazul: (blue crush giddy)
So short_takes is gearing up for a new challenge and as we were discussing themes, I mentioned one I'd like to see is alternate universes, such as apocalypses or werewolves or vampire hunting or teen rock stars or whatever. Which inspired me.

As soon as I get back from a meeting, I'm spending the weekend writing (I have deadlines coming up) and cleaning, so tot ake a break with something that is just fun, nothing else, if you want to give me a prompt for a fandom I've written (see tag list for fandoms) and an alternate universe for that world, I'll throw together a drabble or a ficlet or something.

BSC fic will probably get written first, since that's what inspired this.

---

I really, really love the Simpsons episode "That 90s Show" with the grunge and all the 90s things and all the references to the future to come. It makes me happy every time I see it.
escritoireazul: (cleopatra 2525 under cover)
I'm reading about a stuffed pig (let's not discuss why, okay?), and the only thing I can think about, as this description of it goes on and on, is Stacey, from The Baby-Sitters Club and her stuffed pig collection. Then I start thinking about Buffy and Mr. Gordo.

Then I want to write a crossover story. Maybe where Stacey is a newly powered baby Slayer and she and Buffy have this bonding moment over stuffed pigs. Lately I've been wanting to write a huge crossover world where there are lots of baby Slayers coming together from all different fandoms, and I realize I pretty much did the outline of this in "Ten Slayers Who Never Were (The Of All the Women in all the World Mix)", but still.

I don't have time to write an epic crossover with baby Slayers, and fighting monsters, and lots of sex, but oh, I really want to write it.

Now back to reading about stuffed pigs. Because that is so much more fun than writing epic stories.
escritoireazul: (willow and oz this love has its toll)
[livejournal.com profile] poisonivory did this, and I thought it was a great idea. I have two finals left this semester, but I'll be done by Friday at 5 p.m., and my Yuletide story will be posted after that. Then I am either relaxing here for the weekend or driving to Missouri, but either way, there will be relaxation (just delayed in the latter case). Relaxation means fun writing, and here's where you come in.

Comment with a holiday song and a character or pairing from a fandom I know, and I will write you at least 100 words combining the two.

Note, though, I am not all that familiar with holiday music (this comes of not celebrating winter holidays until I was in my late teens), so if you know where I can go listen to it to get the mood of it, that would also be helpful.

And GO!
escritoireazul: (blue crush giddy)
You would think, after writing [livejournal.com profile] nikitangel's birthday story, I would swear off new fandoms for awhile. You would think I would learn. You would be wrong, but, you know, that would be logical.

I really want to write The Breed girl slash.

I'm going to have to price it locally tomorrow and see if anyone can beat Amazon. Not likely, considering there's only about one option in town, but I would really like to get started on this story (it's for the Twice Told Fandom challenge), instead of the one I already started for it.

I just have the perfect scenario. Damn it. Another new fandom in less than a month? I used to be a one fandom woman, you know. I swear. About ten years ago, but still.

Edited to Add: Okay, it is going to be very hard to write this, because the character's name is spelled Sara and it needs an h, people. Just ask [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop. I've typed Sarah so many billions of times I don't know if I'll be able to make the switch.
escritoireazul: (blue crush giddy)
You guys really should be posting prompts for [livejournal.com profile] smallfandomfest. It's a lot of fun, and it's really inspiring to come up with prompts. It's made me want to write more.

In hopes of convincing you to either a) come give prompts, b) write these stories for me, or c) do both of those options, I am going to give you a list of prompts I've given so far.

Fandoms: 300 (movie), Bring It On, The Cave, The Fast and the Furious, The Lost Boys, Mean Girls, and one crossover, The Fast and the Furious/Mean Girls. (I know!)

prompts ahoy )

Are you ready to write and/or prompt now? I hope so!
escritoireazul: (lost boys troublemakers)
While writing prompts for [livejournal.com profile] smallfandomfest, I think I just inspired myself. Which is pretty much the last thing I needed to do, a new story to start, especially after [livejournal.com profile] nikitangel convinced me to expand the Letty-as-Slayer section of her birthday fic. (Which, I still have to finish the birthday fic itself.)

However, The Lost Boys, Star/Maria, human contact just made me go, "Oh, I really want to write that."

So we'll see.

(In other news, I am feeling very blah right now. WisCon and the trip to see [livejournal.com profile] nikitangel can't come soon enough. I need the energy of being around my friends again, I think.)

(In other, other news, my sister bought her very first comic books on Saturday, while I was with her encouraging her. So now I've read Buffy season eight issues one and two. I'm not really a huge fan so far.)

+ The Apocalyptothon is taking fandom suggestions for the next ficathon. You don't have to intend to sign up for it to vote, so go list the things you'd love to read, if nothing else.

I love "normal" fandoms hit by an apocalypse myself. I'd love to see Blue Crush or The Fast and the Furious during an apocalypse. (In fact, I may have to write these anyway -- I just had a Blue Crush apocalypse idea.)

+ [livejournal.com profile] cofax7 has an interesting post defending John Winchester. I, personally, am a big fan of Daddy Winchester, and do not understand why so much of fandom hates him.

Before I went to the gym, J. came to get me because Billy Wirth's American Gladiators appearance was on tv during some marathon. This was back in the days of long hair and strong upper body. Yum. He still looked a lot like Dwayne then.

"A quiet guy who the fans really like." Yeah, that sounds about right.

This has been sitting here all evening. I should hit post. Also, as usual, I am really far behind on livejournal, and am reading sporadically whenever I get the chance.
escritoireazul: (blue crush giddy)
I have some free time, so I'm catching up on responding to comments (so if you receive a response to a comment you left months ago, I'm really sorry, I'm bad at replying in a timely manner) and on entries I said I would write.

This is a continuation of the Give Me A Title, I'll Tell You A Tale meme which went around awhile back. I'm still finishing titles from the second round I did. (I think I still have titles to do from the first round, but I'm working my way back to it.)

Inspired by a conversation with [livejournal.com profile] jebbypal over in [livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight's LJ Slumber Party, I am looking for Bobby fic, specifically Bobby fic in which he cons people (John would be nice).

I am also looking for, and this is the big one, fic where Bobby is the con artist guru for Dean and Sam and teenage Dean tries out various cons on Bobby to see if they work and where the problems with them exist.

(Do you think Bobby would call him on everything or let him get away with something to boost his confidence?)

Awhile ago I posted a link to a very funny review of that great 80s vampire movie, The Lost Boys. When I did, I said I would give a prize to anyone who guessed where I squeaked from laughter.

Unfortunately, I've since forgotten what that part was, though [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop may remember, because I was talking to her when I did it, and she has this uncanny knack for remembering everything silly I do.

I do know that, when everyone made their guesses, no one got it(1).

I reread it again, and have a new squeak moment, so I'll tell you that instead.

Can you really spoil a review of a movie over a decade old? )

However, I really appreciate you guys playing, so if [livejournal.com profile] santacarlagypsy, [livejournal.com profile] invisionary, [livejournal.com profile] schizoauthoress, and [livejournal.com profile] buffyfan30 will give me a prompt, a fandom, characters, theme, whatever, I'll either write a short story for them or make them some sort of art. ([livejournal.com profile] nikitangel, too, because she found me fabulous icons from the movie.)

On a similar topic, today Sarah and I were talking about how the director called all the male vampires beautiful. (Well, with the exception of Laddie, I suppose.) Neither of us agree with that assessment, and as we each have our favorites, that isn't us being difficult.

In the rush to leave work before I was iced in for the day, I didn't save the conversation, but we both came up with something a little like this.

Why the Vampires in The Lost Boys Aren't Actually Beautiful, But Are ...:

David: Not beautiful. Icily attractive in the beginning and sweetly cute at the end, but not beautiful.
Paul: Not beautiful. His attractiveness grows on you, much like a fungus. Pot head attractive.
Marko: Not beautiful. Cherubic and cute.
Dwayne: The closest to beautiful, but still not. He's more comely than beautiful.
Michael: (Sarah and I actually didn't talk about Michael, he's a nonentity in many of our conversations about the movie.) Not beautiful. Wanna-be rebel attractive, sort of, but the big hair kind of takes away from it.

Speaking of the big hair, if you have never read Sarah's "The Secret Diaries of the Lost Boys" you are really missing out on the hair jokes.
