Two from those titles I collected in the title meme.
thenewhope: mistakes we knew we were making - blue crush? or possibly fray?
This is a Blue Crush story all the way, and one I've already started, actually, after debating on whether or not to request it in the Femslash 07 exchange, but decided not to, because I couldn't include enough details to not make it squicky.
This is Eden and Penny, a couple of years in the future, in an unhealthy, secret relationship. Anne Marie is still a success, still surfing and finding sponsors and doing great things, but she's never home, anymore, and there's a stream of men who just absolutely break Eden's heart because they break Anne Marie's and she can't fix it. There's so much unsaid between them, so many secrets Eden will never reveal, the fact that she's fucking Anne Marie's sister isn't even the tip of the iceburg. Penny is as close as Eden can get to Anne Marie, and she's going to take that, even if she feels guilty.
She does feel guilty, after all, Anne Marie gave her and Lena a home, and friendship, and now that money isn't so tight, she gives them anything they could want -- except she'll never give Eden what she really wants, and so Eden takes it from Penny, instead.
Eden doesn't stop to wonder why Penny, who still chases the surfer boys and parties way too hard, comes to Eden's room at night, why Penny initiates the sex, too, why Penny's even still around.
This is all from Eden's point of view, jagged and broken and angry and hurt.
There should be a sequel from Penny's point of view, but I don't have a title for it yet.
light_emerges: House Meets His Match
I'd make the title this "House Meets His Match (Fire at the Tip and Burn On Down)". This is the story of Faith, after the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and how she gets herself in trouble and ends up in House's hospital. When she heals super fast (though not as fast as she used to do, because all that Slayer strength and healing is spread out between all the Slayers), she gets sent to House. He's his bitter, snarky self, but Faith gets a kick out of him and his dry wit, and picks on him just to rile him up, which, of course, he hates and gets even snarkier and more bitter, which just encourages Faith. They go back and forth, she taunts him, he threatens her with weird tests, and his staff doesn't quite know what to make of her, standing up to him.
(There may be a side plot where Faith flirts with Cameron just to get her all twisted up. Faith likes to tease the straights.)
I'd never write this, because I already know I couldn't get that humor down, but I'd love to see it.
A client left the television on up front, and I just heard That 70s Show start. Maybe I'll go watch it. We're certainly dead enough right now.
