[writing] The Lost Boys

While writing prompts for
smallfandomfest, I think I just inspired myself. Which is pretty much the last thing I needed to do, a new story to start, especially after
nikitangel convinced me to expand the Letty-as-Slayer section of her birthday fic. (Which, I still have to finish the birthday fic itself.)
However, The Lost Boys, Star/Maria, human contact just made me go, "Oh, I really want to write that."
So we'll see.
(In other news, I am feeling very blah right now. WisCon and the trip to see
nikitangel can't come soon enough. I need the energy of being around my friends again, I think.)
(In other, other news, my sister bought her very first comic books on Saturday, while I was with her encouraging her. So now I've read Buffy season eight issues one and two. I'm not really a huge fan so far.)

So far, it's not too different from Joss' X-Men writing mode. This time, he lost me when I couldn't tell which Buffy was onstage, or whatever is going on. Clarity in writing is not the same as preserving mystery.

I don't like how comic booky they made the story. What I liked about the show was that even though they were fighting demons and all this supernatural stuff was happening, it was happening in the backdrop of the real world. Normal stuff, like high school and parties where going on too. Now they are all flying around and Dawn is a giant, and it's just not the same.
