Trick or Treat authors have (somewhat) been revealed (apparently there's an author reveals bug, too), so here are the four stories I wrote this year. I wish I would have managed one more, because that would have brought me to five stories, which I like for an exchange. Ah well, Yuletide is coming. Trick or Treat was great for me this year as both a reader and a writer.
Assignment: 16 Ways to Kill a Vampire at McDonald's (new fandom)
I love this fandom a ton, and I got amazing fic out of it last year, so I really wanted to do it justice this year. I'm pleased with what I managed.
Title: Dangerous Things, and Scary, and Bright
Summary: Lucy met her first vampire when she was eighteen and looked twenty and felt like she was at least as mature as any twenty-one year old. She met her second vampire when she was nineteen, and looked twenty-one, and was as scared as a baby tossed out into a bright, loud, dangerous world.
Treat: Original Work (it's complicated fandom)
I love weird west, ghost stories, and stories about dangerous, hungry women. Based on the response, I did a good job of making it creepy and twisty, which was exactly what I wanted.
Title: Spook Hunting
Summary: It don't matter what they find. None of the stories are ever told the same.
Treat: Chronicles of Riddick series (old fandom)
Shopfront had a great request and inspiring prompts, and I wanted to bring Dahl and Kyra together into the same place. I love Pitch Black and parts of Riddick, but huge chunks of Riddick infuriated me, too, and I wanted to play around with changing that. I'm pleased with how this turned out.
Title: Dirt and Danger and Death
Summary: It's a planet full of dirt and danger and death, like all the best places.
Treat: Riverdale (new fandom)
I think Riverdale is ripe for haunting and supernatural things, and bloodredcherries felt the same way, based on their prompts, so I wanted to write an unreliable narrator ghost story.
Title: She is Marked and Undone
Summary: Betty remembers, and sees, and dreams.
