To further celebrate a decade of Carla fic, I give you more fic. One hundred word drabbles about women for each fandom in which I have posted a story, each inspired by this song.

Title: One Girl Revolution
Author: Carla
Disclaimer: None of the characters are mine.
Dedication: To the fans in all my fandoms, thank you for everything you've done.

Some people see the revolution but most only see the girl
I can lose my hard earned freedom if my fear defines my world
I declare my independence from the critics and their stones
I can find my revolution I can learn to stand alone

It's after noon, and god forbid I actually study (I just spent five minutes watching two guys try to load a picnic table into their pickup truck. Obviously studying is not my top priority right this second), so instead I'm posting my Remix fic. Some sort of commentary to come later, probably. Or maybe I'll just go back to watching The Descent and trying to get rid of this headache. I need to get some drugs, because ouch.

Title: See What You Want
Author: Carla
Disclaimer: Characters belong to Marvel and Fox.
Dedication: Written for [livejournal.com profile] aphrodite_mine in [livejournal.com profile] xmmficathon 2007, but it is horribly, terribly, inexcusably late. Character/pairing request 1: Kitty/Rogue (or Rogue/Kitty) Specific request: kitchen, not so much canon of X3
Rating: 13+

Summary: It's horrible, to love someone you can't have.

I was thrilled when I received my Remix assignment, in part because there were so many fantastic stories I could rewrite, and in part because Ion Bond wrote that fantastic Remix for me last year, and I was absolutely giddy with the chance to do a story in return.

There are actually two versions of the original story, "Countdown", one in reverse (like the Remix) and one in chronological order. I like them both a lot, but one of the things I liked most about the reverse version is that the story starts with Pyro and peels away layers of him until he's just John again. As I've said many times before, one of the reasons I like Pyro in the movieverse so much is because of his identity issues, and the way he wants to be one thing and doesn't want to be another and, in reality, he's both and even more.

Title: Count (the Burn) Down (The Stop, Drop, and Roll Remix)

Summary: Pyro’s been waiting his whole life.
Rating: 17+ for language
Fandom: X-Men Movieverse

I found this easier than I expected, though harder to keep it just to five. I'm not one of those people who really like what I write, most of the time, especially once I finish it. I always look at it and see the ways I failed to do what I wanted.

However, I've really loved seeing other people's lists, and I've saved a bunch of them to my Fic To Read list, which means they were helpful, too. Here's a list of fic I like today (or I like at least pieces of the stories).

+ "Iteration", XMM, Gambit/Pyro

Summary: John lost a lot at Alcatraz, and gained a little bit in the aftermath.

Iteration )

+ "Pyretic", XMM, John (Bobby)

Summary: He'll miss his memories and daydreaming about how the world will end.

Pyretic )

+ "From Whence Salt Came", The Lost Boys, Star

Summary: Before Michael, Star wasn't very balanced.

From Whence Salt Came )

+ "Monster In the Woman", Harry Potter, Viktor Krum (Hermione)

Summary: Viktor is always searching for something, even at the end of the world.

Monster In the Woman )

These next two are a pair, unofficially. They mostly only match in my mind, but they are both a little twisted and a little wrong, which I love. (Plus Remus and Sirius will always go together in my mind.)

+ "sins of the flesh (tastes like chicken remix)", Harry Potter, Remus Lupin

Summary: Remus always loved the taste of meat.

sins of the flesh (tastes like chicken remix) )

+ "Time Is Running Away (The Dream A Little Dream Remix)", Harry Potter, Sirius Black

Summary: Sirius dreams in layers, no delineation between past, present, and the future perhaps.

Time Is Running Away (The Dream A Little Dream Remix) )

I love the Love, Once Given, a series set after The Fast and the Furious, cowritten with [livejournal.com profile] shisaiyan.

+ "Laundry Day (Extended Version)", The Fast and the Furios, Letty/Mia

Summary: Every three days or so, Mia has to do laundry.

Laundry Day (Extended Version) )

+ "cannot see the stars at night", Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawn/Willow (Xander)

Summary: Dawn will never stop looking for stars.

Title: Pyretic
Rating: 18+ for language and sexually explicit content
Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, though with the amount of angst they received, you'd think I did.
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] reblog
Pairing/scenario requested: Bobby/John. Angst would be nice. Must include at least subtext. Something that deals with their friendship-turned-breakup once John defected, or just their friendship, or just their breakup John's defection, or just the aftermath. Something somewhere about that whole relationship.
Warnings (if any): Slash. Sex. Language.
Author's Note: [livejournal.com profile] reblog I am sorry it is so short and possibly not quite what you were looking to read. I have no attention span these days and everything I write is super short. I wanted to do more and I'm sorry I wasn't able to pull it off.

I thought being on vacation meant having more time to do fannish things, but no, my days are sucked up by non-fandom writing and events. The vacation is almost half over, and I'm no farther on any of the things I wanted to do than when I started. Man.

However, sugar free chocolate pudding makes everything good, especially as dessert after a turkey burger. Yum.

I intend to write about a number of topics, from the remus/remix coming up to the hero discussion [livejournal.com profile] violetsmiles had (which fits my current writing extremely well, both fandom and non-fandom), but I have to run off to a writing group shortly, so instead I leave you with the notice that I'm alive, thank goodness, and a story.

This was my first completed x-men story, written for the [livejournal.com profile] xmmficathon.

Title: Rogue Always Did Like To Make Lists
Rating: PG-13, for a bit of language
Disclaimer: All the characters belong to Marvel and Fox. This story is for entertainment purposes only.
Summary: Well, sugar, Rogue always did like to make lists. And these days--all days--her lists are mostly about Logan.
Written for: [livejournal.com profile] aliaspiral (I hope you enjoy it.)
Pairing/scenario requested: Pairing: Wolverine/Rogue, any shape, form or fashion. angst is fun. so is smut. (Ok, so it's angst-light.)
Thanks to: [livejournal.com profile] cabell for the wonderful beta help and for making me want to write x-men stories in the first place. All remaining errors are my own.
