marenfic is hosting the Battlestar Galactica Frakkin' Ficlet Battle over in her journal. As I received my season two point five DVDs yesterday, I plan to watch them (at some point...I don't know when) and participate in this challenge. Yes, I know I swore I wouldn't write BSG fic, but the girl slash! Starbuck! Starbuck having the girl slash! The president! Older Adama! Cylons!

Okay, obviously I have been sucked deep into another fandom.

Tornado warning. Tornadoes touching down. Equinox. Mom's birthday. Working all weekend (main job today 8-5, CogCon 5-11, main job 8-12 tomorrow, CogCon 12-11, CogCon 8-6 on Sunday). Want to watch my new DVDs. (BSG and Supernatural!)

I currently have this desire to write a Cry_Wolf and Supernatural crossover for obvious reasons (ie Jared Padalecki is in both). There's no way to make it logically work, of course, but I think an alternate universe would be fun, in which Sam gets to go off to prep school because John realizes how important his education is to him (plus Dean's already primed to be heir to the demon hunting business), and after the events of the movie, everything takes a supernatural twist, and none of the answers in the movie are actually true, there's something else going on. Dean comes to visit and he and Sam do some investigating and there's lots of violent flirtation between Dodger and Dean, and maybe she turns out to be some sort of witch.

I think I need to not write this, actually, and instead focus on some professional prep school fiction I'm currently plotting, from which I'm pulling some of the ideas for this fanfic.

I should get back to writing now, I've been working on another professional story (this one werewolf based) all day, and I've made good progress.

X-Men

I think I'm writing two separate stories for the xmmficathon. I didn't intend to do this, of course, but I like both stories a lot. One is more developed than the other (and closer to my original idea on seeing the prompt), so I think I'll have to stick with it and maybe finish the other one later.

Of course, there's still a little while before they're due, so maybe I'll just write both of them. Who knows. I'm still really pleased with my assignment, and I enjoy writing it.

The Mighty Ducks

I feel kind of sick today, and even though I slept close to twelve hours last night, I'm already tired again. I'm glad I have the day off tomorrow, I didn't get anything done today except for a little writing.

So instead of being out with my friends, I'm at home watching D3, where the Mighty Ducks go to prep school. I've been thinking a lot about Queertet Revisited while watching it, of course, and I know more where Goldberg's plot thread is going, now. I always had a vague idea, but now I know more about his motivation. This is pleasing.

I also kind of want to write Julie/Connie after watching this movie again. Not in Queertet, of course, but maybe in a little one shot (which I hope won't turn into a mini-series like the Goldberg/Russ one shot did).

Horror Movies

I watch two complete crap horror movies today, though one was at least better than the other. thestalkycop recommended Black Christmas and for the first time with one of her movies, I have no idea why. Then I watched Woods of Evil, which had a good, if cheesy premise, but turned out to be way amateur. It was so bad moments were hilarious just because it was such crap--and I don't mean bad in that good way cheesy horror movies are bad.

I really should go ahead and go to bed, because I want to see how much I can write tomorrow, if I take regular breaks but don't have anything planned. I meant to do that today, but not feeling well didn't really help.

Okay, there is some important information missing from the summary of D.E.B.S.. Without your recommendations, I doubt I would have ever rented it (though I did look at it a couple times in the video store, before I switched to Netflix), but I am so glad I did.

The summary from the Netflix sleeve: Encrypted within the S.A.T. is a secret test that measures a girl's potential for espionage. Amy (Sara Foster), Janet (Jill Ritchie), Dominique (Devon Aoki) and Max (Meagan Good) score so high that they're recruited to join the elite paramilitary group known as D.E.B.S. But when their mission to capture arch villainess Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster) gets complicated, even their spy skills might not be able to save them....

Which, okay, had I known earlier Jordana Brewster was in it, I would have been sold. I've been a fan of hers since The Fast and the Furious, though obviously not as much as Michelle Rodriguez. However, that one big, important piece of information missing?

Obviously I have somehow managed to put together a flist with the best taste in the world. How, I still do not know, but all of you are awesome. First BSG and now D.E.B.S. People, what would you like me to watch next? I will listen to whatever you say!

thestalkycop, you MUST see this movie. I will bring it with me when I come visit if you don't get it before then. It's no Lost & Delirious but still great. We'll watch them together for balance.


Also, expect fic. I mean, come on, Jordana Brewster. Humina. Also, I feel so much better about the Letty/Mia OTP I have going on.

I think I want to write Letty/Mia to "Woman Like a Man" by Damien Rice. It's always been a Faith song to me, but I can see it fitting Letty, too.

First, to my comica_obscura assignment, even though you will likely never read this: Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the best requests I've ever received in a ficathon, and I've had some good ones. There is practically no way I could be happier with what you requested, and I just hope I can make the story work as well as the request. Thank you so much. I opened my email today and even though I'm dizzy and cramping and not wanting to be at work because of it, the day is suddenly bright and wonderful because I'm so excited about the story.

Second, to my comica_obscura writer, if you've come to take a look at my journal and my writing to see what I like, thank you for writing for me. I'm going to love it, I'm sure, I always love stories for me. If you want to take a look at my writing, I'd suggest sticking to the memories feature on livejournal (they are labeled FIC [fandom]) because the website is in the process of being taken down and rebuilt, so you're likely to run into a lot of missing pages there. (I'm not the only one who goes to read her assignment's fiction, am I? To get a feel for the style he or she likes?)

I love Ultimate Colossus more than any comic book character ever, which is saying a lot. I particularly like him half in love with Wolverine but not sure how to handle it or what to do about it, but I also like more recent events and I'm starting to love the idea of Colossus and Northstar. I like him a little angsty (metal angst!) and a lot wonderful.

Alan Quartermaine and gun is what some would call an OTP around here. There is absolutely no wrong with a gen story about him and his history and his guns.

Werewolves make me happy. Shapeshifters make me happy. Therefore Bigby Wolf makes me happy. I'm a little behind on Fables, but by the time stories are posted, I plan to be caught up, so anything can go with this, really, and I'd love you forever if you tied in other werewolves or werewolf legends.

I really can't wait to read whatever you write for me.





Oh crap, so dizzy. I think maybe it was the pain killer.

Finally broke into the last two dvds. I had planned to do it this weekend, but stayed far too busy for far too long, between meetings and getting rid of books and gaming all night Saturday night. I continue to love it.

I am definitely going to have to buy this show so I can rewatch to my heart's content.

In other news, I did, finally, manage to make it to the gym this morning, and I'm ready to up my weight on a number of moves. I have this problem where I nickle and dime it to death, and I know this, I did it even back when I first started lifting in high school, and I have to stop. I can handle more weight and fewer reps, and work my way back up. It's part of being a perfectionist, I don't like to switch to the higher weight until I am absolutely sure I can do all my sets with full reps, but that's not quite how it works best for my body.

I went to buy black handwraps after work, because I had so much free time. Unfortunately, every place is still out of the black, and I refuse to buy the white, so instead I picked up new trainers, sunglasses, and workout clothes. According to the workout bottoms I just bought, I have dropped three sizes. I still don't see it, but I know I'm down over thirty pounds, so maybe it's true. I don't know. The new clothes are so comfortable, though, and just in time for kickboxing tomorrow night. Plus it was nice to wear the sunglasses out in the late afternoon sun; I really need them this morning after the gym, as I drove into the sunrise to go home to shower. Painful.

I think I need a new PS2. I've had this one (or should I say J. has had this one) since they first came out, and it's starting to mess up on tonight's BSG dvd. Of course, it could just be because it's a Netflix dvd, but it messed up on the last disc of BtVS season seven the other day, too. It's starting to get frustrating. In no small part because I'm saving money for Wiscon, the Salt Lake holiday, and the new place this summer, so I don't want to have to buy a new PS2. I just went and checked the disc, and it is pretty scratched, so maybe that's it.

It's almost bedtime anyway. I want to go back to the gym in the morning, to get lower body lifting done, because after kickboxing I'm too exhausted to do anything else. In a good way, but still. Time to up the weight on the leg work, too, and tomorrow I want to add in some deadlifts, which I've never done before. This morning the gym was just as crowded at 5:30 a.m. as it is at 5:30 p.m., except in the morning the crowds were on the cardio machines and in the afternoon there are a bunch of guys hogging the weights. (The wrestlers from the high school, mostly, I think.) It was easy to get the bench this morning, and tomorrow I shouldn't have any trouble getting the squat wrack. Good times.

I read the BSC Friends Forever Super Special today, Everything Changes or something like that, and I was hit with the need to write Kristy/Abby.

I really, really miss Hawaii right now. Really.

There are no spoilers for tonight's episode in this, but there are for more of season two.

I wanted to wait and write this story after season two was out on DVD, so I could have the source material well at hand, but I have this need to write it now and display some Ana-Lucia love, because so much of the damn fandom hates her, violently and passionately.

I guess that's it, actually. I don't know. I just want to watch the episode again and get it all straight in my head.

I suddenly want to write Ana-Lucia/Claire, which might be easier than the story I've actually started. Or maybe not. I might actually have to buy episodes from iTunes, which I didn't want to do because I know I'm going to buy the DVD set when it comes out.

Edited to Add: Oh hell yeah, the next new episode looks good (or was that a combination of a bunch of new episodes? whatever) and, no, actually I mean wonderful. Bring it on, television, Lost is still good. (Mostly.)

More stories I haven't written, but now think I might. Except for the Oz story, I can't write him cool enough, which is what the story would require. I really, really want to write both Lost stories now.
