Two quick things.

First, I suddenly want to write The Mighty Ducks/Glee, probably Portman/Mercedes. Maybe Portman/Fulton/Mercedes or Goldberg/Russ/Mercedes, though with that one I worry about the whole fat people can only have fat people.

Dude, canonically, Portman and Fulton sing and dance. Sure, it's mostly headbanging and to their radio, but STILL.

Second, I can't believe I never realized this before, but OF COURSE I am going to love music mash ups. THEY'RE CROSSOVERS! I am shocked I never put those words together until now.

I still don't write very much these days.

The Mighty Ducks

Chapter Nine: The Great Plan of "Queertet Revisited", cowritten with [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop.

Summary: High school is hard. It's even more hard when you're not quite right. (Girl slash, boy slash, and het.)

Four Things Adam Banks Didn't Do At His High School Reunion (the will he won't he remix)"

Summary: Adam Banks is a nice boy. He would never do such things. (Het.)

The Fast and the Furious

"Laundry Day (Extended Version)"

Summary: Every three days or so, Mia has to do laundry. (Girl slash, Letty/Mia.)

X-Men movieverse

"Iteration"

Summary: John lost a lot at Alcatraz, and gained a little bit in the aftermath. (Boy slash, Pyro/Gambit)

---

Only two girl slash stories out of the bunch. That's so strange, considering most of the stories I currently have in progress are girl slash. Of course, the Adam Banks story was actually written last year and never posted, and "Queertet Revisited" is still in progress, so out of the actual completed fics over the two months, half girl slash and half boy slash isn't so bad.

---

Speaking of girl slash, I had this great image of two characters together, one with dark hair and one with light, they were hiding in the corner of a room with brick walls, and I can't remember who they were. It was just a flash image, which is strange, I don't normally get them, and it's lingered so long I wish I knew more so I could write it and get it out of my head.

---

It is finally October. Yay. Halloween. Horror. My favorite month of the year.

Okay, so last year [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop (and I, but mostly her, because I just encourage her schemes, I'm not all that helpful. She does all the things like coding and such) tried to run the Mighty Ducks Butterfly Ficathon, in which it was a sort of Butterfly Effect Remix type thing. It was never finished, for a variety of reasons, but I did finish my story, and I quite enjoyed it, so here it is for you all, only a year or so after the fact.

Title: Four Things Adam Banks Didn’t Do At His Reunion (the will he won’t he remix)
Author: Carla (escritoireazul@gmail.com)

Rating: 14+ for sexual themes
Author’s Note: This was written for the Butterfly Ficathon at Queertet.net. I rewrote Hannah’s “The Reunion”

Summary: Adam Banks is a nice boy. He would never do such things.

X-Men

I think I'm writing two separate stories for the [livejournal.com profile] xmmficathon. I didn't intend to do this, of course, but I like both stories a lot. One is more developed than the other (and closer to my original idea on seeing the prompt), so I think I'll have to stick with it and maybe finish the other one later.

Of course, there's still a little while before they're due, so maybe I'll just write both of them. Who knows. I'm still really pleased with my assignment, and I enjoy writing it.

The Mighty Ducks

I feel kind of sick today, and even though I slept close to twelve hours last night, I'm already tired again. I'm glad I have the day off tomorrow, I didn't get anything done today except for a little writing.

So instead of being out with my friends, I'm at home watching D3, where the Mighty Ducks go to prep school. I've been thinking a lot about Queertet Revisited while watching it, of course, and I know more where Goldberg's plot thread is going, now. I always had a vague idea, but now I know more about his motivation. This is pleasing.

I also kind of want to write Julie/Connie after watching this movie again. Not in Queertet, of course, but maybe in a little one shot (which I hope won't turn into a mini-series like the Goldberg/Russ one shot did).

---

Horror Movies

I watch two complete crap horror movies today, though one was at least better than the other. [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop recommended Black Christmas and for the first time with one of her movies, I have no idea why. Then I watched Woods of Evil, which had a good, if cheesy premise, but turned out to be way amateur. It was so bad moments were hilarious just because it was such crap--and I don't mean bad in that good way cheesy horror movies are bad.

---

I really should go ahead and go to bed, because I want to see how much I can write tomorrow, if I take regular breaks but don't have anything planned. I meant to do that today, but not feeling well didn't really help.

I am actually watching a Disney Channel movie. (Well, okay, this isn't a big shock.) But I am only watching it because AJ Michalka was in it (her acting debut), and she'd be the one to play Anna in "Queertet Revisited" which [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop and I write. After watching the first twenty minutes of Cow Belles (which is a damn annoying title and movie, so far--holy shit, there's a lot of pink in her bedroom) I have decided even her voice is pretty close to teen Anna. Neat.

This is just to kill the time before Supernatural, of course. I wish the girl was here to share this experience. I'm giggling at it.
escritoireazul: (espn or something)
So when I said I wanted to spend a nice, relaxing Saturday at home, I did not mean I wanted to spend all morning running errands. The post office was packed, I couldn't find what I needed in the storage shed, and I missed the breakfast menu at my favorite restaurant. I also did not get to go by the bank to get signed on to J.'s account so he can pay me money for the bills we're splitting, even though he's not here anymore.

However, I did find a new used bookstore, and the owner has the cutest little puppy named Molly, and she followed me around while I explored, and I cooed at her and petted her a lot, and bought a first edition Preston/Child book, and a ton of other neat books, and I really love books and puppies, so the rest of the errands were worth it to find the bookstore. Even though the new costume shop in town sucks, and I should have known, because I already disliked the owner after dealing with her at work. But that is not an important story and bookstore joy is.

I need to take in some books next week to trade, because I have three boxes of books to get rid of so far. One is just juvenile books, and will be donated when I go do some volunteer work next month, but the rest I think I will try to trade, because I always need new books. Always. I love books.

This afternoon I have been talking to [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop, writing Mighty Ducks fanfic, and doing laundry. I am so cool! (Right.) I do really like the title of the story I'm working on; I've always wanted to do one of those "number of things" stories, and now I am. It is, of course, for the much belated Butterfly Ficathon, and I'm almost done, and next time Sarah and I are not scheduling a holiday in the middle of the ficathon we're running (we suck), so I can't talk about it much, but. I also gave it a remix title and I love coming up with remix titles.

It is "Four Things [data embargo] Didn't Do At [data embargo] (the will [it], won't [it] remix)" and I love my title. Love it. If only the story was as good. Though I like Thing Four quite a lot.

I should get back to writing. Once this is done, and sent to the beta, I need to write a pinch hit fic for the XMM ficathon, and then I need to type up the Oz/Bill/Gambit story I wrote part of at work, and then I need to work on my [livejournal.com profile] crossovers100 and [livejournal.com profile] fanfic100 stories. Whee!

Also "Queertet Revisited" and the stories I'm writing with [livejournal.com profile] shisaiyan.

Received a mix CD from [livejournal.com profile] crimson_keys, a Halloween mix, and it is SO COOL I LOVE IT!
escritoireazul: (vin what have I become)
I wrote nearly 8500 words on "Queertet Revisited" today. Of course, I've not slept since Saturday morning. I've caught up on reading my flists, wrote, cleaned, packed books for donations, organized books I'm keeping, and sorted some of my stationary collection. Plus I've talked to [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop for most of the day, which was absolutely lovely.

Not as fun as in person, but still, lovely.

I need to go get food. I'm starving and I am in no mood to cook.

It's a good day. Not only did [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop and I finish and upload the next chapter of "Queertet Revisited" (which, really, she does most of the uploading because ff.net sucks and I hate it), but when I played with the new google blog search, I found out two of my stories had been recced by people.

It made me squee so hard. My poor coworkers, I don't think they know what to do with me.

Here is the link to the "Queertet Revisited" main page so you can find all the chapters including the newest. We also have the next chapter almost ready to go, which is where the real fun begins. Hee.

If you like The Mighty Ducks, boarding school stories, teens exploring their sexuality (but nothing detailed), misteries, three day competitions, hockey, humor, and angst, please feel free to give it a try.
escritoireazul: (Default)
Did the new chapter of "Queertet Revisited" break you? Everyone is being uncharacteristically silent. I think [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop and I killed you all. Ooops. Sorry!
escritoireazul: (oz prom)
Stayed quiet all day with migraine. Now cannot sleep. Bah.

Harry Potter on Friday. I need to call the bookstore (and for that matter figure out which one I'll go to, since there are two whole parties nearby) and find out the procedure. I have books reserved at one, but could always do the other, too ... instead ... whatever.

There's that meme going around again about asking questions. I don't talk about much here at all non-fandom, but if you want to know anything about me (fandom, life, beliefs, whatever), just ask. I'll provide some sort of answer.

Everyone should go look at the vid [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop made on my request and then give her feedback, because no one gets enough feedback these days.

Mighty Ducks, to Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation": Ducks Behaving Badly and it is so good.

This icon reminds me of [data embargo] and [data embargo] at Homecoming in "Queertet Revisited". Oh, I want to talk about it, and I can't, I can't! Also, we should have the next chapter up soon, and I can't wait for people to see it. The plot, as it were, thickens.
escritoireazul: (charlie fulton kiss me queertet revisite)
... you should all just wait and see what [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop and I are cooking up right now.

I don't mean in "Queertet Revisited", either, though we did do a major session on it today and the next chapter is coming along nicely. I mean for other fanfic writers. It will be fun, glorious, terrific fun.

Hee.

ETA: Have also gone to add Mighty Ducks fans to my flist, because that fandom was sorely lacking, at least there. So ... hi. Mostly I stalked Sarah's flist, because -- well, because I could.
escritoireazul: (oz love story)
I should trust [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop more often. Or really, because I do, I should listen to her movie recs and watch them immediately. Mean Girls is one of the funniest films I've seen in awhile. It's all the things I like in my comedy--sarcasm, high school hijinks, bitchy women, and a far-too-pretty Lohan, pre-anorexia. Thanks, Sarah, I love it and this is going to be one I buy.

I'm also interested in femslash for it, because can you see Cady swept up in female romance? Or Regina using sex to tie people to her? You know she does.

Sarah, you were right, Regina is definitely high school Shauna, or at least the outside of high school Shauna. She's wonderful, cruel and frightening and fabulous.

To round out the high school girl experience, I've just finished Away Laughing on a Fast Camel and Then He Ate My Boy Entrancers by Louise Rennison, the latest two books in a British series about Georgia Nicolson, her friends, her boyfriends, and all sorts of mishaps. It cracks me up.

Watched the first of the BtVS season three graduation episodes, because Oz. Panicking. Still the cutest, sweetest thing I've seen. Even though the show is over -- far, far over -- and Oz has been gone for awhile, I miss him. The world needs more Oz, and more Seth Green in general.

It's been a fandom weekend. Seth Green is the avatar [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop and I use for [data embargo], so watching Oz was good. I've already mentioned Mean Girls, and we use Rachel McAdams as the avatar for Shauna. (Anyone reading Queertet Revisited will know who I mean. If you've read The Protector Series, Rachel McAdams would be high school Shauna, obviously not adult Shauna.) J. and I watched D3 The Mighty Ducks, which is, of course, the fandom Queertet Revisited is in. Finally, I have The Butterfly Effect to watch, which has Elden Henson in it, who plays Fulton in the Ducks movies and Fulton is one of the main characters in QR.

And I've rambled way, way too much. I think I need to make some pictures for QR and write some more. I sent Sarah some bits and pieces, but I didn't hear back from her today, so I'm not sure what to write next.

Yay fandom. Yay four day weekend. Yay one more day off.

Has everyone seen challenge in a can over at dymphna.net? It has an x-men random generator (more or less), and I'm intrigued.

~~*

[livejournal.com profile] elke_tanzer talks about the stories/art/vids/etc. that cause an entire paradigm shift in a fandom, and it's all very interesting, and, as someone who spends most of her time in smaller fandoms, I should really have quite a bit to say on this, but all I can think about is the fact that my best friend [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop was the paradigm shift in The Mighty Ducks. She and Victory Through Tears pretty much introduced slash to the fandom, with impressive results. (Note, those results were not always good, but they were always impressive.)

(And if you want to read her writing, visit Queertet.net)

I want to have that kind of effect on something. Not necessarily a genre or even a fandom, but, you know, maybe a person.
