So this morning's version of not sleeping includes Blue Crush. Of course. Still feeling that Hawaii love. Anyway, they also have Denise Bee in common, beyond the Oahu connection. She plays the cashier in Blue Crush and Ula's wife in 50 First Dates.

Now that I'm perusing the connections of IMDB, I learn that:

+ Sanoe Lake is in Creature of Darkness (2008): The story of four young couples drawn to the remote dunes for off-roading in their extreme machines. But the outing turns into a night of terror when they are attacked by the Catcher, a skilled and brutal hunter of human specimens for alien science. (With Devon Sawa.)
+ Sanoe is also in Half-Life (2008): A precocious boy and his jaded sister use their imaginative powers to escape a confining home-life, save their self-destructive mother from her charmingly manipulative boyfriend, and finally reinvent their world in a mind bending conclusion.
+ Michelle has some interesting movies coming up:
1) Avatar (2009): A band of humans are pitted in a battle against a distant planet's indigenous population. (With Sigourney Weaver and Zoe Saldana! GLEE!)
2) TrĂ³pico de sangre (2009): This is the true story of Minerva Mirabal and her sisters who dared to stand up against the Dominican dictator Rafael Trujillo and were killed in 1960 as a result.
3) Let us not even speak of the new Fast and the Furious movie. LET US NOT EVEN SPEAK OF IT.
+ Hancock looks like it might be awesome.

Ever wondered why Blue Crush doesn't tell the story of a surfer of color? Especially since the white girl's two sidekicks are played by women of color? And it's set in Hawaii?

I have this same thought about Lilo & Stitch, Myrtle and her little followers.

There are stories there. I just don't know them yet.

Also, Sanoe is like four to five inches taller than the others and yet I never noticed that much of a difference. Huh.

It's after noon, and god forbid I actually study (I just spent five minutes watching two guys try to load a picnic table into their pickup truck. Obviously studying is not my top priority right this second), so instead I'm posting my Remix fic. Some sort of commentary to come later, probably. Or maybe I'll just go back to watching The Descent and trying to get rid of this headache. I need to get some drugs, because ouch.

Studying, what?

FIC!

(Um, so I'm watching the commentary for Can't Hardly Wait and, well, Seth Green's fake accent is freaking hot. Seriously. Can he talk like that more often?)
