Jan. 4th, 2017 10:35 pmSo I finally, finally finished the last season, and laugh-cried my way through the second half, especially that series finale. I already know I need to rewatch the entire show again, because I need to build up to that third season one more time; I've never managed to get more than an episode or two into it after that season two ending, but I did, and it left me clutching my hands together over my heart, tears in my eyes, laughter on my lips. What a wonderful, satisfying last season and finale.
I think I may need to ask for this for Yuletide again next year. I want so many stories. (I may even try my hand at writing it, though this sort of fandom doesn't play to my strengths.)

Fandom: Yuletide 2013 Nominations

I thought I would struggle with mine more than I did, but when I sat down, I realized I really want to read and/or write in three of this fandoms. The other is an old stand-by (and I'm not sure it will qualify as a small fandom this year anyway).
My nominations:
Dance Academy (Abigail Armstrong, Ollie Lloyd, Sammy Lieberman, Kat Karamakov)
Fast and the Furious Series (Letty Ortiz, Mia Toretto, Dominic Toretto, Han Lue)
Protector of the Small - Tamora Pierce (Keladry of Mindelan, Raoul of Goldenlake and Malorie's Peak, Domitan of Masbolle, Shinkokami of Conte)
Provost's Dog - Tamora Pierce (Sabine of Macayhill, Aniki Forfrysning, Kora Ingensra, Nomalla of Halleburn)
There is no overarching theme (except I always want stories about women), but with the last two, I really, really want girl slash between women with swords. Unf. None of mine have been reviewed yet.

What in the world am I going to watch next? Any recommendations for fun tv shows about teens? I love werewolves and athletes, particularly gymnasts and dancers, and shows with diverse casts, and really don't watch anything about lawyers. I have Netflix streaming and Amazon Prime and Hulu plus at my disposal.

Fandom: Dance Academy love
Jan. 29th, 2013 09:32 pmI finally signed up for Netflix again, for the first time since Netflix streaming became such a big thing. Oh, man, it is kind of awesome. I'd planned to get Google tv in a few months when Google Fiber hits my neighborhood, but maybe I'll stick with Netflix and Hulu Plus.
Anyway, I've been catching up on Dance Academy. I'd previously seen most of season one (I missed a few of the earliest episodes), and I'm (unfortunately) spoiled for the end of season two, so I never tracked it down until now, but oh, wow, season two is even better than season one.
(Dance Academy is an Australia teen show about elite ballet dancers at the national academy, and it is AWESOME.)
