escritoireazulYou guys, it's back, and I have hearts and stars in my eyes. HEARTS AND STARS. HEARTS AND STARS FOREVER.
I zero percent believed that the show would kill off Jenny and Katrina, and when I realized that I had so much faith in the show, I was shocked. Do you know how often I trust a show not to do wrong? Pretty much never. I loved the heavy weaponry, even more ass kicking Abbie and Ichabod, but even more, I loved the twisty manipulation and mental fuckery of the hallucination.
I love how everyone goes about fighting to save themselves, even if they also need some assistance in getting it done. This is no "white guy rescues everyone" set up. Abbie, Jenny, and Katrina all have their own strengths and deep drive to fight themselves free, and I love that. (I do hope we get more Katrina characterization this season, because she's still kind of one note, and I'd love to have three really well developed women going on in the show. Come on. I trust you to do right.)
All of the team hugs and love. ALL OF THEM. Everyone hugging everyone. Sisters. BFFs. Apocalypse fighters. I just love Team Abbie, Jenny and Ichabod so much. Now we need Frank brought back to Team Heroes.
I really don't have anything useful to say, except that I kept make incomprehensible noises at the screen when everyone was being awesome, which was all the time. So much love for this show. So much love.
Ichabod knowing everyone ever from history (only a slight exaggeration) is ridiculous, but also pretty hilarious. This is where I always end up rolling my eyes, but it does not take away from my enjoyment of the show at all, so I even find this ridiculousness charming. Benjamin Franklin and his nudity and Ichabod's dislike of him and the lightning key was just fun.
A+ return, show. I can't wait for the next episode.
Now I need to go listen to Thirty Seconds to Mars for awhile, since "This is War" is stuck in my head, and then I am watching the Gotham pilot. Doggy is asleep with her head on my thigh, it's chilly but between her warmth and the fuzzy blanket I'm using, it's nice and comfortable (though, since I dislike socks and slippers, my toes are cold), and overall, the mental health day I took today is working out well.
I think there's a fanvid to "This is War" that I really liked, but it's not on my new computer, and I cannot remember the fandom. I'll have to do some searching.
Oh, and I'm figuring out my Yuletide nominations. Have you guys made yours already?
