Fandom: Dear Yuletide Author Letter

Dear Yuletide Author,
Thank you for writing a story for me! Yuletide is my favorite fannish time of year, and though I have been mostly away from fandom because 2012 has been filled with some really horrible events, I am looking forward to Yuletide more than ever.
Before I get into any extra details, I want to say that I am excited about your story, no matter on which fandom(s) we match. I love writing stories for people for Yuletide, it brings me so much joy, and I hope you have a lot of fun and a wonderful experience writing for me. (And that Yuletide stress, which seems almost inevitable sometimes, is as minimal as possible.) I can't wait to read your story!
You can find me on DW, LJ, AO3, Tumblr, and Twitter as escritoireazul.
I am always down for adding werewolves to a fandom. Always.
General Information
For Yuletide, I tend to prefer happy, joyful stories. This year in particular, I cannot handle character death, particularly the death of a mother figure. Even if it's in canon, I would really prefer the story either be au to that death or simply not touch on it. I tag a lot, so if you're looking for more information about a particular fandom or what I've written in that fandom (surely I'm not the only Yuletide writer who looks for this), that should be easy to find.
I like all fic ratings, and love both gen and romantic stories. Sex, no sex, whatever makes you happy in your story.
Likes: girl slash, gen, and het more than boy slash, mostly because I really love stories about women being awesome; women being awesome and competent and smart and funny and sexy; werewolves and werewolf packs as families and women being amazing werewolves and werewolf alternate universes in any canon; families being loving and protective and a little snarly with each other because they trust each other to always be there; poly families, threesomes, foursomes, and moresomes, as long as it is consensual and not cheating; intricate plots and adventure stories and mysteries to solve; friends and family teaming up to save the world; adoption stories where adoption is treated as totally normal and not a BIG DRAMATIC SECRET to up the tension; siblings as friends and friends as family and families of choice; oceans and full moons; Halloween and horror movies; roadtrip stories and motorcycle rides; mechanics and garages; boxing and controlled violence as bonding; and crossovers, the more twisty and complicated the better.
Dislikes: disrespect for characters of color, queer characters (particularly bisexual and trans* characters), fat characters, or characters with mental illness; character bashing; rape and non-con and dub-con; women feeling guilty about enjoying sex; use of "crazy" to mean bad or dangerous or scary, etc.; Man Pain, particularly White Man Pain; and embarrassment/humiliation.
Specific Requests
My requests are in no specific order. I love each of them, and would be absolutely delighted to receive a story in any of them. I request Never Cry Werewolf almost every year, but that is because I am certain one day I will run into another fan of the movie. I will be just as happy receiving fic in one of the other fandoms.
Never Cry Werewolf (2008)
Loren Hansett
Loren is basically a complete badass throughout the movie, and I really want to see more of that. More of her hunting werewolves. I'm fine with the other characters being included, but mostly I just want more of Loren being her awesome, awesome self. More of her showing up Redd and his ridiculous hunting show. More of her teaming up with Redd and her brother to hunt monsters. And if you want to go AU with this, I would love to see Loren and Angie being badasses together, Angie being the supportive best friend or girlfriend while Loren hunts werewolves. Team werewolf hunters for the win here.
I was really delighted to learn that Never Cry Werewolf wasn't just a fun, somewhat cheesy werewolf movie, but was also a fantastic story about siblings working together and had a kickass female lead. Loren is truly awesome. I want to see her being awesome again. What I really like is that she's so determined to stop the werewolf, and even when everything is falling apart around her and no one wants to help, she makes it work. She's a badass with a crossbow, a very sporty girl, does her own research too, and just all-around awesome. I also love that though she's a sexy, competent woman, the majority of the movie avoids sexualizing her for the male gaze. Toward the end, that fails a little, but for the most part, I found it really refreshing. She's both brains and brawn, and is just badass.
Please no Loren/Jared. The age difference bothers me, and I love Loren as a competent hunter who has already had her first kill.
Whatever you do, I want more of Loren being awesome.
Roswell
Isabel Evens, Maria DeLuca
I only started watching Roswell back in 2009, so I missed the heyday of fandom, and have read basically no fic for it. I have two main loves for Roswell: (1) Roswell poly fandom, where the Roswell teen aliens and their human friends are a team and a family and maybe some (or all) of them are also lovers; and (2) the Duplicates, and the Duplicates interacting with the Roswell aliens, particularly Lonnie and Isabel being beautiful and snarky and cold and possibly having slightly twisted somewhat hateful sex.
Here in particular I would love something set after the end of the series, while they're on the run, slices of the life they create on the road. Maybe they solve mysteries, maybe they find out there's a supernatural world out there and they hunt monsters, maybe just small towns and jobs paid under the table and each other at night, their family together.
Mostly, I just love both Isabel and Maria and think there is great potential for them to be smart and confident and competent and wonderful together.
Roseanne
any (Becky Conner, Darlene Conner, Jackie Harris, Roseanne Conner)
Mostly, I want a story that is full of their love and familial ties and the heart that the show did so well. Family, family, family, sisters as friends, friends as family, bickering and fighting, disagreeing and supporting, and the love the binds them together through it all. Please don't feel limited by these characters. There are so many others on the show who are also amazing, I was simply limited to a four person nomination list.
I would love to see the Roseanne characters set in a supernatural world. What would they be like as a werewolf pack? What would they be like as a coven of witches? Practical Magic meets Roseanne, maybe?
Corrie Swanson
I love Corrie so much. She's flawed and strong and smart and tough. I want to see more of her out in the world solving mysteries and learning things and being amazing. I'm fine with bringing in other characters from the series, particularly the other women. I do not ship Corrie/Pendergast, because the age difference and power differential is a squick of mine. Relic is my favorite book in the series, followed by Still Life With Crows and then Thunderhead (though I find Thunderhead has some problematic racial stuff, too).
There's so much potential for Corrie, particularly right after Still Life With Crows. She goes off to school and -- what? Finds real monsters to stop? Solves mysteries? Befriends a bunch of awesome girls and has adventures and romantic entanglements with them? (I would love to see Corrie team up with other smart, competent, funny girls to have adventures.) What did she get up to when she was sent to Australia? What does she do during her year of adventures in NYC?
I have not read past The Book of the Dead yet, though the next three books are on my To Read list.
I just want to say again that I will love your story. Like I said, this is my favorite time of year and Yuletide is a huge part of that. No pressure! I always love the stories I receive and I really, really want you to have fun with it. Promise. Write a story that you enjoy, and I will be happy.
