Friday Night Lights

Episodes keep disappearing off my dvr, so I decided to watch the ones I had and deal with catching up later, which is possibly a hugely confusing way to do it, but whatever. I teared up at the theme song, it made me so happy to have new episodes to watch.

This show. God, this show. I have no idea what's going on, but I love this show.



Though, wow, I didn't realize just how much I have developed an unhappy reaction to 'small-town country folk confused in the big city' stories. I do not like it, it makes me uncomfortable, and it didn't used to be this bad, so I don't know why I am reacting so badly to Street and Riggins in NYC. Ouch. I thought about turning off the episode for awhile because it was so uncomfortable. Make-me-cringe uncomfortable.

TAMI, though, TAMI IS AWESOME STILL. She makes my chest tight every time I see her, she is so very awesome.

Dude, I miss Corrina Williams. I know Smash is gone, but surely we can see her again, yeah? Surely?

Oh, man, ouch, this NYC plot is painful. PAINFUL.

Supernatural

musesfool talked about how she would cast the show based off vito_excalibur's excellent fanart of Dean and Sam as characters of color. (Her Dean in particular is incredible; I'm not a huge fan of the original promo pic, but this fanart is amazing.) I would love to read a story about them.

Ace of Cakes

Just when I think I could not love this show more, I get two episodes in a row which fill my heart with glee.



"King of Charm City"

First, they had someone on the show who had made a wish through Make-A-Wish to visit the bakery and meet everyone. This is the third person they've had, they said, and they absolutely love it. The things said about the program and granting wishes and making people happy really touched me.

On the same episode, they are making a cake for King of the Hill's 250th episode, which is awesome. I love that show, and having Duff so excited about it makes me giddy. (I may have developed a bit of a crush on Duff.) Duff and Geof were characters in the episode, too, apparently. The cake is fantastic, a grill and hamburgers and little figurines of the characters, and, of course, the fence.

Then they did a gorgeous D.C. wedding cake for two women who were absolutely adorable and so giddy and sweet when they saw the beautiful cake. While making this, they ALSO made a LOCKER CAKE for this girls' sixteenth birthday, because she uses an antique gym locker in her bedroom for storage and it's just the cutest thing.

"Lord Stanley"

Cakes: Hawaiian-themed wedding cake with a functioning volcano on top(!!!), a replica of the Stanley Cup(!!!!!) for an ALL-HOCKEY WEDDING EXTRAVAGANZA, dirt bike and RV cake for a bar mitzvah. They are all amazing. The dirt bike one has the craziest little details, like miniature edible potato chip bags.

And Duff! He has the Stanley Cup brought into the shop so they can match it and that moment when they guy brings it is incredible. Just this shocked moment of awe and wow. WOW. I love you Duff!

I want a cake with a functioning volcano on top. <3<3<3 Maybe one with motorcycles, too. And the ocean. Someday I am ordering a cake from them, and it will be an extravaganza!

I haven't seen this episode (if it exists - surely they don't show ALL the cakes they ever do, right? But maybe this one will), but over at Cake Wrecks, one of the non-wreck posts was about the Lost cake Duff and the gang made for the 100th episode. To make it even more awesome for me (since I don't watch the show anymore, but still love Hurley), the pictures were from Jorge Garcia's blog.

Finally, there was an episode recently where Duff guest starred on one of Paula Deen's shows, which was the greatest crossover ever!

Crap, now I really want cake. I don't have any cake. Watching food shows is a bad, bad plan.

lgbtfeset has prompts to be claimed. There are some excellent prompts, and I might have to grab one for myself, though I have a ton of other things I am supposed to be doing.

secondstrings (a community for "sidekicks, best friends, and minions") is taking prompts until March 18.

Beautiful People

delux_vivens called for a men of color pic spam. maschalismos responded with men of color in metal bands. sparkymonster responded with both men of color and women of color and the comments are full of more pictures.

(Jason Momoa apparently has a guitar that has the same design as his tattoo and honestly I find that the most fabulous thing. There's a picture of him in these little black glasses that made my knees weak. So hot.)

(At one point in the comments, sparkymonster describes S.W.A.T. as "I think the purpose of the movie is hot people with guns." which is SO SO TRUE! S.W.A.T. has Michelle Rodriguez, people!)
