Fandom: Yuletide and The Croods
Nov. 1st, 2014 02:49 pmNo, I am not writing The Croods for Yuletide. I have it on in the background while I try to warm up enough to start writing. It took a turn for the cold here, though we don't have snow like I'm hearing from a lot of people elsewhere, and I am not happy. I hate the cold. It's going to be a long winter.
(To be fair, I haven't yet turned on my heater, either; my bedroom is warm enough with the heat rising from the unit below, though the living room is pretty cold right now. I'm going to get a blanket here in a minute, but I may end up turning the heat on later. It's the warmest part of the day, and I'm still cold. That's not a good sign. Of course, Dog and I just came inside from the dog park, so we're both pretty chilled.)
FAMILY KILL CIRCLE. I love this movie SO MUCH.
Past!Carla has done present!Carla a big favor. Apparently, she bought the source material for my assignment a few months ago, and it's been sitting on a stack of media to consume (/vague) ever since. (Well, to reconsume. I've consumed the source material before, or I wouldn't have offered.) I was worrying how to get my hands on it, but past!Carla is awesome. I hope present!Carla is as awesome to future!Carla and gets a draft of this story done sooner rather than later, so future!Carla isn't scrambling at the deadline.
One slightly less fun Yuletide thing. I flagged a number of letters for potential treats, as I do, but when I went back to reread one of the letters earlier, the request I flagged has been removed. I am sad, because I really wanted to write that story. I'm now debating writing and gifting it anyway, with a note.
It is so cold I'm wearing socks, guys. SOCKS. I hate socks.
There's a scene in this movie which is very Pitch Black, just one of the many reasons I love it. I may ask for fic next year.
