Fandom: Sleepy Hollow and Yuletide
Nov. 4th, 2014 08:59 pmNo, I am not writing Sleepy Hollow for Yuletide, alas. I would love to write a treat, but I can't get the voices right whenever I try, so no. But I am catching up on Sleepy Hollow while I work on the first draft of my Yuletide assignment, and I am so freaking charmed by it. Even things I normally can't stand in stories because they are handled so badly (asylums, mental health treatment, adoption) are (so far, at least) delighting me. I love this show. I love this show SO MUCH.
Yuletide, though. the story in my head is awesome. I can't seem to get the awesome on the page, though. I mean, first draft, yeah, and it will get better, but awesome story in my head needs to be awesome on the page, too, because this is fun, and I think my recipient will love it, but, again, AWESOME ON THE FREAKING PAGE NOT JUST IN MY HEAD. /woe
I am getting rid of things in preparation for a move. I've been poking at books, but so far have focused on everything else, because books! I love my books. But I need less stuff. We will see if I can manage to get rid of books as well as everything else.
