fandom: oh Ultimate X-Men I swore I'd never love you, but I do

I've found two new OTPs, which is strange, because really, I think I've found my new favorite character and the two people I love seeing him paired with. Thank you, Comica Obscura for feeding my love and inspiring it. I now have to go in search of the fandom itself, because I want more, more, MORE!

Oh, Piotr(Peter)(Colossus). You many-named steel man of angst and love. I'm all over Piotr/Logan and Piotr/Jean-Paul now. Especially the former, because oh, man, so much potential.

Anyone know of any good stories or links? I'm desperate for more.

My favorite mutant happens to be Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver) though. Or his father Magneto. I dunno. I can't choose.

I never really liked Piotr in the other comics. Not that I disliked him, but he never interested me too much. However, Ultimate Colossus has just blown me away, both in the comic itself and now in the (few) stories I've found. Amazing.

Pietro is neat, too. Magneto as well. Their whole family, very interesting. I'd like to see more of them.

I didn't think I'd like Ultimate, because it was such a change from the other storylines, but it turns out that's one of the things I like most about it. I love the fresh canon.

I didn't grow up with comic books, so I was just able to get into X-Men like.. two, maybe three years ago. Though I watched and adored the silly original cartoon that came on Fox.

Ultimate X-Men is the only canon storyline I'm familiar with. Other than Evolution, but hey: that was just a cartoon. Loved it anyways though.

Piotr's seen it - every time Logan's claws slide through his flesh, Logan bleeds.

Logan bleeds a lot, of course, more than any of them. He pops bullets out of his skull and charges through falling masonry and stands down knife charges that would kill a normal man, and he lives. But he bleeds.

Piotr has faced bullets and stones and blade, too. Secure in his metal shell, they never touched him. He felt the distant impact, sometimes, on the very edges of his skin.

Piotr wonders if Logan's recklessness is inspired by the uncanny magic of his healing, or if the speed with which his bones knit and flesh seals are somehow a safeguard against his wild heart. Perhaps that's the true evolution of their kind; body finally rising to meet the enormous perils of their world, Logan's body jumping forward to keep pace with his unopposable lust for danger.

There isn't much in the world that could make Piotr bleed, but the claws that slice out of Logan's hands can do it. He's seen it, in training, in the danger room. In his dreams.

Piotr wakes, one early morning after Logan's departure, and finds he has bitten the inside of his mouth while he slept. The wound is small, and hidden from the others, but all day he tastes it, the metallic salt of blood.

Amazing, as usual. I love the detail that Piotr notices the blood every time Logan releases his claws. I love the idea that the true evolution is meeting the perils of the world.

And god, I love Piotr's dreams.

This made me babbly and unable to articulate myself. Secret nighttime rendevous, sneaking out early, small wounds, and that secret taste. God.

I love them.

I think we could write it in bits, boucning off each other, and then edit it into a seamless story. I've only read the first TPB of Ultimates, so you might have to catch me up on some plot, but I saw this (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/roxyistired/scannage/ultcol_love.jpg) in scans_daily and I think we must start our story from here and do flashbacks of Logan/Peter topsekritsex and emcompass his coming out to Kurt. Because that's going to be a FUN conversation. Yes?

Yes, I think that's the best way to do it, writing it in bits and bouncing it off of each other. Whee.

I have all the TPB's and the most recent issues in comic form (because I am a weak, weak woman), so I can give detailed information. In fact, this weekend I may type up all the parts that could fit into the story.

I'm so excited! Topsekritsex and flashbacks and coming out to Kurt angst.
