After writing the Letty the Vampire Slayer section from "Ten Slayers Who Never Were (The Of All The Women In All The World Mix)",
nikitangel and I were talking about Letty as a Slayer and how she relates to Faith and how she would relate to her old life. This led to some ideas for a possible story, not just a little scene.
Tonight I went to bed, was struck with an image from it, and have now written over 1000 words, with no sign of an end. They aren't even in California, yet. Good grief. I'm going to have to stop soon, I was exhausted at 8 p.m. and now am absolutely shattered, but I love the story so far.
Favorite bit:
"Stay put," she hissed. "I'm coming."
"Thank you." Mia's voice dropped into a whisper. "Thank you. I need help, Letty, I don't know what to do."
"I'll take care of you, girl."
Letty waited for Mia's goodbye, waited for the click as she ended the call, and then, with the memory of the sound of home lingering in her ear, she ground the phone into little pieces of broken plastic and bits of metal, electronic skin and bones.
Then she went out slaying.
I love destroying the phone as the physical manifestation of her feelings. She's breaking down, her family is breaking down, of course she wants to destroy something.

Date: 2007-06-03 05:39 am (UTC)It was so odd to see a Rufio look-alike. I need to buy Hook on dvd and get to work on that story. Somewhere I still have the novelization, too, I should pull it out. (Getting rid of books is bad! I hope I didn't get rid of it already.)
