escritoireazul: (vin running out of time)
I am up to page 105 on the current edit of the novel, out of approximate 360 some pages. That's not very good progress, but it could be worse. It could be like my fanfic, which has completely stalled after the Remix. There's not another deadline coming up any time in the next few days, which is probably good. I think I'm going off to bed now, because I keep glancing over at my beautiful king-size bed, and it's tempting in ways it often isn't. It's so big I could put my loveseat on it and still have more than enough room to sleep, and the loveseat is gigantic and heavy, beautiful black leather. I could probably fit the couch of the set on it, too, except I think it is a little too long.

I have the best furniture, black leather set of couch, loveseat, and huge chair, plus black iron and glass coffee and end tables, which my computer desk also matches. My desk chair is black leather as well. My entertainment center is black metal. The bookcases don't match any of it, but they do match each other (mostly, I have two short onces which don't match the majority) and my dresser.

No idea how this moved from writing to my gorgeous furniture. No idea.

I also have a killer Stitch collection, and fabulous books, and complicated picture frames, and great dvds, and a lot of music, and a beautiful bass guitar, and a nice electronic keyboard, and why am I still talking about this? I must be tired, I'm rambling.

I both love and hate the novel right now. *sigh*

Well officially I now own my first car.

See, up until this point, they had always been in Dad's name (keep in mind I've been driving my current vehicle full time since I was seventeen and part time before that--what can I say it was a lot more fun than the 81 Volkswagon Quantum I on which I started driving, even though it had a sun roof which I loved), but recently the rear end fell out of my Jimmy (on the interstate which sucked a whole lot, and that's putting it mildly). Shortly before mine fell out, the same thing happened to my brother-in-law's S10.

Right after, we found a really good deal on a set of three Chevy Blazers, all which had problems, but could be parted out or, in one case, fully repaired. My Dad, the genius mechanic, pulled the rear ends out of two and repaired both my brother-in-law's truck and my Jimmy, so they're back on the road. We've gotten rid of two of the Blazers.

This third one, though, it's fixable. It needs an engine, which we have, a new rear glass, which we have, a thorough cleaning, and some paint work. (Well, that's not necessary, but.) So to pay me back for buying the rear end, my brother-in-law is going to repaint it for me, a nice dark blue, and then I'm going to stencil ocean waves on the sides. Dad's going to do the engine work (and maybe teach me a bit more about it), and then I'll start driving it instead.

But since I've never had a car in my name, and I did buy this one (well, all three), it's in my name. Woo. I have property at last! Sure, it's only one year newer, and it's practically the exact same vehicle (1989 GMC Jimmy versus the 1990 Chevy Blazer), but still. I'm excited. Plus it means more things to tear apart as I do more work in the garage.
