[fandom] my dvr has grown a brain
Nov. 8th, 2008 06:30 pmSo I'm sitting here, innocently watching An American Werewolf in London, which I dvred back before Halloween with the intention of watching it on Halloween (a plan that was foiled when Dad and J. surprised me with an overnight visit instead of a drop the stuff and run). It finishes, I go to delete it, and realize, hey, there's still another hour of recorded stuff here. What gives?
Apparently, my dvr decided I needed an hour of The Dark Half. I'd much rather it had decided I need the entire movie, but still, if this is how my dvr is going to grow its own brain, I think I'm okay with that.
(This reminds me of a discussion I had in class the other day, about whether we liked targeted ads or not.)
Now I am going to watch two episodes of Pushing Daisies.
nikitangel got me hooked on this show the last time I visited her. It's kind of precious, I think, and I love it.
It's turned into winter here, and it is very, very cold.
ETA: If the rumor I just heard about PD is true, I'm really sorry, because it's all my fault. I tend to kill the things I love - or, rather, as they say in Practical Magic, paraphrased: I shake their hands and they later end up dead. I touch them, and they're gone.
Sorry!
