Television makes me roll my eyes a lot.

So there's going to be this new show in the fall (I guess), "Ugly Betty" is the name, and it is based on the Columbian telenovela "Betty La Fea" (oh, what a creative American title they have slapped on that, creative I tell you), and it is about an ugly secretary with no fashion sense who works at a fashion magazine. Which, okay, I expect such things from television. Except Ugly Betty is played by AMERICA FERRERA WHO IS SO NOT UGLY.

What is really, really sad is I am tempted to watch it because she is so wonderful I want to watch everything she does, even something as horrible sounding as this. (I have this urge to watch Lords of Dogtown again back to back with Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.)

Also of note in the not interesting and/or overdone premise but I will watch for the actors is "Day Break" which has Adam Baldwin and Victoria Pratt. Now, just for Adam Baldwin, probably would not watch (though, tempting), but VICTORIA PRATT. I WATCHED HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2 MORE THAN ONCE. IN A ROW. FOR HER. So obviously my ability to reason fades directly in proportion to her.

Crap it is time for bed already. I have been struggling with this backup fic for the happy endings ficathon which is actually going great, except I AM NO WHERE NEAR THE HAPPY ENDING. I know how it will end, and I know how to get there, but I might have created an entire alternate universe with this story without intending to do so and now I feel bad because it is taking so long to get there. But I continue to slog away at it and eventually it will be done (hopefully by the end of the week).

Sleepy time now.

Also I am still not feeling well. It may be the lack of sleep last night, because I had started to feel better yesterday evening and then couldn't sleep. So tonight, I sleep. Tomorrow is kickboxing and I will feel better for it, I will.

LMAO, House of the Dead 2 cracked my shit up. I adore B movie horror and/or scifi flicks and that one did not disappoint. Plus, like you said Vicky was in it. AND she looked pretty hot in that uniform.

I'm fairly certain that there's more to the idea of "Ugly Betty" than just that, especially since Salma Hayeck is involved in the production, and neither she nor of course our lovely miss America would want to be part of something so degrading to women. Supposedly, based on what I read somewhere the original telenova held a fairly positive feminine message. But *shrug* we shall see.

I have to admit I had to go to IMDB.com to find out who America was, and yes, she is SO pretty. I loved Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants... especially her. That whole thing reminds me of when Rachel Lee Cook was in She's All That, and she was supposed to be all ugly and geeky, but hello... you can't take a beautiful girl and put her in glasses and frumpy clothes and make us believe she's not pretty. And then it was supposed to be this big surprise at the end that she's pretty? Yeah right!

2 more than once in a row. LOL.
