Turned in the Remix story, opened one or two WIP files, had nothing inspired to write, so then I decided to do more of the title meme thing. Which, if you'd like to give me more titles, I'd love them, I continue to have so much fun with this!

The original post about it.

Previous ones: "Whiskey Moon" (BtVS/Harry Potter); "Out of Time" (Lost), "Hustle & Flow" (BtVS/AtS), "OneStop Sales" (BtVS), "Not a Pizza Hangover" (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), "Blank Note" (Lost/BtVS); "Two Regrets and One Farewell" (Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), "Daisycutter Blues" (Far From Xanadu), and "Toes to the North" (X-Men movieverse); and "Drive By" (Fast and the Furious), "Mis(take)n" (BtVS), "Love and War" (Lost), and "What I'm Trying To Say (Is Not What You're Hearing)" (Blue Crush).

"The Hard Way" - Anya gen or any pairing

I'd need to finish rewatching season seven before I wrote this, but I think this would be Anya thinking about how much harder it is to do what she's doing, sticking around and helping, trying to be friends with Xander, instead of punishing him, instead of embracing being a demon, how much harder it is to do the right thing and live with the pain and the hard parts of life.

"Count to Ten" - Faith/Dawn

This is post season seven, when Buffy goes off to do her own thing, a semi-retirement even while she works to find and help the new Slayers. Faith stays behind, because she's trying not to make Buffy feel she's pushing her way into Buffy's life, and Dawn stays, too, to help Giles rebuild the Watchers Council, to try to learn how to be important without being a Slayer.

During this, Faith works with the new girls, teaching them to fight, and eventually Dawn starts to imitate them, until Faith offers her actual lessons. These turn into lessons for Faith, too, on how to keep her temper, on how to not compare herself to Buffy all the time, on how not to view herself as the dark to Buffy's light.

There's a repeating line, something about counting to ten for everything, to control temper, to find balance, to help see a pattern in the research, to help translate a prophecy, just slow down and count to ten.

The first time they kiss, it's like that, Dawn counting under her breath in a whisper, disjointed, jagged scenes as, within that ten count, Dawn sees parts of Faith, opens up parts of herself to Faith, and they come together despite the fact they both know it's not the best idea.

"My Whole Life (Is Like a Picture of a Sunny Day)" - Faith? Dawn? Buffy? You pick!

Crossover story! This is The Fast and the Furious meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer. While Faith is in prison, there's a med student who comes in to keep them healthy, tend to any wounds from the fights. Faith doesn't ever really need doctoring, but Mia takes an interest in her, in the way she heals so fast, the way the scars barely exist. Faith is gruff and closed-off, but Mia talks enough for the both of them, tells her about her brother and the man she started to love and the way he betrayed them all.

"Another Roll of the Dice" - Gunn/Wes

This one is hard, I'm not very good with Wes, but I think this is a hunting story, maybe after Angel fires them all, when Gunn and Wes walk the streets together, struggle to stay alive and keep the demons down, and then, sometimes, they drink together after, sitting around a table in a bar, or a pool hall, or some little place Gunn knows, and Wes is uncomfortable but he likes feeling like he belongs. This is just a quick story, little images of their life without Angel, and the way they make sacrifices of their own ideas of fun to keep everything flowing.

"Five Things Bobby Never Told John Before He Died."

I. "I love you, and I want to join you" before Bobby hunted John down after Alkali Lake, in a bad part of town, and ended up shot in a drive-by, and John killed hundreds of stupid humans in revenge.
II. "I love you, and I'm tired of hiding it behind her" before Rogue caught them together, went a little crazy, and touched John, touched him long and hard, and he wasn't able to heal like Wolverine.
III. "I love you, and I believe in you" before John, already messed up in the head when he came off the street, lost control of his powers, despite Bobby's best attempts to keep him calm, and burned up the whole school, Bobby and students and teachers and all.
IV. "I love you, and I'm really afraid" before Bobby couldn't deal with loss of his family, and the way he finally felt like an unnatural freak, and hanged himself in the main hall.
V. "I love you, and I want you to come home" before John ran away to Magneto and attacked the X-Men and Bobby froze them all out.

Sorry, honey!

Well, okay, actually I'm not. I like going for the pain in the story. But that one is really hurtful, I know.
