Letter complete November 1.

Dear Yuletide Author,

It’s my favorite fannish time of year: Yuletide.

Do Not Wants and general likes, followed by fandom-specific details, below. If there’s a discrepancy between the DNWs/general likes and the fandom-specific details, go with the fandom-specific. Mixing and matching fandoms and prompts more than welcome.

My absolute favorite things: werewolves, crossovers and alternate universes (the stranger and more unusual the better), and monsters and magic.

I’m [archiveofourown.org profile] escritoireazul at AO3. Treat option is enabled.

General Likes

+ stories about women, including f/f, gen, and het
+ chosen families, friends as family, strangers to friends to family through wild adventures, reluctant allies to friends, friends and family teaming up to save the world
+ alternate universes, a non-exhaustive list: werewolves, witches and witch hunters, IN SPACE, horror movies, haunted summer camps, ghost hunters, portal fantasies, monsters, canon divergence, weird west/wild west (I particularly like the outlaw feel of it, untamed and wild, big spaces with nowhere to hide, big woods claustrophobic around you, danger at every turn, as long as the AU avoids the magical Indian/savage Indian/white savior aspects of the trope)
+ threesomes, foursomes, and moresomes, in all configurations (so long as the woman/women are not ignored in favor of the men)
+ monsters of the week, casefic, adventure stories, mysteries
+ crossovers and fusions so long as my requested characters are the main characters
+ tropes, a non-exhaustive list: wilderness survival, huddling for warmth, forced proximity, friends to lovers, enemies to friends (to lovers), there’s only one bed oh no, fake dating, survival horror, abandoned ships, burial at sea, burial by fire, crashed on a deserted island, ghost ships, not-so-safe harbor, locked-room mysteries, came back wrong
+ kink (female top/dom only except for biting and bloodplay): biting, light bondage, impact play, rough body play, bloodplay for supernatural characters, fireplay, marking, sensory overload, orgasm denial/control, pegging

Do Not Wants

+ stories focused on dealing with discrimination (racism, sexism, biphobia, fat hate, ableism, etc.)
+ character bashing or villainizing
+ rape, non-con, and dub-con
+ embarrassment/humiliation
+ harm to a dog
+ permanent character death for my requested characters
+ incest
+ big age difference in romantic relationships (except for supernatural characters), particularly an older man/younger woman
+ a/b/o or werewolf stories with Big Tough Alpha Male tropes
+ pregnancy, including mpreg

Requests

Amazon "Red Riding Hood" Commercial: Red Riding Hood
Bulgari "Unexpected Wonders" Commercial: any
Monster - Christopher Pike: Angela Warner, Mary Blanc

Spellbound - Christopher Pike: Joni Harper, Cindy Jones
Willow (1988): Sorsha

Life is a mess right now and my letter is not nearly as detailed as usual. You can find old letters under the Yuletide tag if you want to see what I've written before.

Across the board, the AUs I would love to see: Werewolf packs. Teaming up to survive horror movie scenarios and save the girls (summer camp killers, haunted houses, cursed objects). Adventures in Space. Jaeger pilots. Elite athletes. Scientists fighting underground monsters. Weird west. Surviving inhospitable locations.

Amazon "Red Riding Hood" Commercial: Red Riding Hood

What I Like About the Source Material: Little Red Riding Hood retellings. The dark, creepy atmosphere in the woods juxtaposed against the cheery, welcoming lights of home. Red's raised eyebrow when the wolf is at the door. The narrator conceit. The Big Bad Wolf being a good boy.

Prompts:

Red with her pet wolf. Red with her pet wolf pack and all the dog toys she buys them.

Werewolf big bad wolf dealing with how it feels to be a good boy in wolf form when they're a real human person the rest of the time.

Red and Grams the werewolf hunters.

Monsters in the trees.

All the secrets Red carries.

Bulgari "Unexpected Wonders" Commercial: Younger Woman, Older Woman>

What I Like About the Source Material: I don't even know what to do with this weirdness, I just love it. Ridiculously cheesy voiceovers, random musical asides, dance breaks, magical realism flowers, snake jewelry, it's beautiful and weird and I want all the stories about it.

Prompts:

Who are these women and what in the world is going on in that house?

Heists and spies.

Chosen family, romances, witches, a home filled with magic.

Snake jewelry come to life.

Music as magic, dancing as magic.

Secret dreams, secrets they keep from each other, the strange things they hide from the world.

Dramatic widows living their best dramatic lives after dramatically killing their partners.

Monster - Christopher Pike: Angela Warner, Mary Blanc

What I Like About the Source Material: Strong teen girls fighting and becoming monsters. This was everything teen!Carla wanted, and is still something adult!Carla loves. Pike doesn't shy away from violence in this, and I love how Angela embraces the weirdness of the world, how she fights, how she kills.

Prompts:

Angela breaks Mary out of jail and they hunt monsters together, both the existing ones and others they find in the future.

Angela's transformation isn't permanent, sometimes she is human again.

More things come from the original fifth planet.

Angela and Mary dealing with the world seeing them as two very different types of monsters.

Angela after her transformation.

What it means to be monstrous, what it means to be human.

The Mummy (Movies 1999-2008): Evy Carnahan O'Connell, Ardeth Bay, Rick O'Connell

What I Like About the Source Material: Cheesy supernatural adventures in the sand with incredibly hot people making terrible decisions and saving the world. I hardcore ship Evy/Rick/Ardeth, but also love Evy/Rick on their own. This movie is pure ridiculous adventure, and I love it for not taking itself too seriously but also for not disrespecting itself. How much Evy loves her work and her sheer confidence in herself even when people dismiss her and underestimate her.

Prompts:

I'm more familiar with the first movie than any of the others, and like it best, but you are welcome to pull world building details from the others.

More adventures with artifacts and monsters and dangerous settings.

Cursed objects and haunted houses.

The three of them navigating their relationships in their different worlds.

Sex magic and rituals and romantic tropes and Evy coming into her own topping them.

Spellbound - Christopher Pike: Joni Harper, Cindy Jones

What I Like About the Source Material: Monster girls and what it means to be human. The dangers of the wilderness, the beautiful setting with the full moon, the way love twists and fear mangles emotions. The way it embraces its own cheesiness and treats its teen girls with respect. Mostly.

(I recapped this book several years ago: Spellbound by Christopher Pike)

Prompts:

Angry romance between Cindy and Joni.

Cindy attracts monsters now and must learn to deal with them.

Cindy and her monstrous pet parrot with the vulture inside.

Explorations of what it means to be human and what it means to be a monster and what it means to be an animal.

Cindy fucks up that last plan and puts the Joni vulture into Wolf instead of the parrot and the chaos that ensues.

Joni romances Cindy and not Alex.

The vulture remains in Joni's body and Cindy teaches her how to be more human. Vicious, violent, but more than that too.

Cindy embraces the monster and she and Joni hunt the world.

Willow (1988): Sorsha

What I Like About the Source Material: Everything. Sorsha and her swords, her prowess in battle, her drive to prove herself to a mother who disregards her at every turn and uses her only for her power. How shocked she is when Madmartigan compliments her while he’s under the spell, and her anger when it goes away. The way she turns on her mother to save the world. The worldbuilding, the magic and warriors and brave Willow and just everything.

Prompts:

I have not yet seen the television show. Please don't include details from that.

Sorsha and Madmartigan have all the sex, fighting and fucking. Sorsha topping the hell out of Mardmartigan or Madmartigan and Airk. Sorsha and all the sex and romance and love she can handle.

Sorsha's complicated relationship with her mother. Bavmorda trying and failing to mold Sorsha into the warrior she wants. The pain of becoming something outside of what your mother, your queen, your world demands of you.

Sorsha finding her place in a new world where peace and love carry more power than hate and war.
