I've started with the story written from me, and that fandom, and then moved from the top of the list down. I think I am perhaps making this more work than I need to do, from reading other comments left on the stories; I'm writing far too much on each comment and I'm not reccing them until I've left feedback, but I'm having a great time, it's just very slow going and now I must take a break for awhile and do other things like grocery shop and prepare for work tomorrow. Damn it.
Fandoms recced: Tamora Pierce - Tortall universe (book), 10 Things I Hate About You (movie), 28 Days Later (movie), Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series (book), The Breakfast Club (movie), and Classical Mythology.
Tamora Pierce - Tortall universe
Old Bones and Memories is a story about Raoul of Goldenlake and his memories. It is the story written for me, so of course I knew I'd like it, but this is amazing in ways I can't actually believe. It is perfect, and captures all the things I like best about the books and about Raoul himself: the superstition, the magic, the attention to details, the loyalty to his friends, the dice games, and the character voice. It's really, truly perfect, exactly what I wanted in a Raoul story, and I can't believe it was written for me.
Of Valor is a story set after The Protector of the Small is finished. Do you remember the girls who watched Kel joust and sneaked into her tent? They sure remember Kel.
10 Things I Hate About You (movie)
In Accordance is a sweet, funny, bittersweet story which chronicles Kat's life and the way things stay the same and the way they absolutely don't. It's told in five parts; parts two and three are my favorite, but all together the story is lovely and wonderful.
Four Ways Patrick and Kat Probably Break Up, and One Way They Probably Don't is obviously one of those five things stories, but it does great things within the structure, foreshadowing for later parts, great character voice, scenes which are in turns funny or sweet or sad. When it's all put together, it's a wonderful story of love and heartbreak and, amazingly, hope.
28 Days Later (movie)
The Love After is a story of twenty-eight weeks of twisting memories and changing emotions and mutations. It's delicious and desperate and absolutely amazing.
Red Ribbon is a story of Harry West and how he became a military man and capable of things no one thought right. It makes sense, his past, and the reasons he does the things he does, and he didn't just wake up to be the bad guy you know.
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series (book)
Christmastime In the City is a fabulous story about Tibby and the way she captures the world behind her camera, but also about the way she's learned to share and the way she's learned to love. It's sweet and detailed and wonderful and amazing.
The Breakfast Club (movie)
Guys Screw Around is a story about Andrew Clark and how much he thinks John Bender is a punk, foul-mouthed and classless--and how much he thinks he's not.
If She's Quiet is a story about Allison Reynolds and what it's like to go a little crazy, what it's like to obsess, what it's like to try to find what you want in whatever is there.
The Buddy Thing is a story about Brian and how things changed after that Saturday, and how things didn't change, filled with weights and unusual friendships and pop-culture references which are hilarious.
Classical Mythology
Aoidos is the story of Apollo and Dionysus and the way music is used to worship one and the other and both. It's a lovely tale, weaving through time and place.
