Thank you so much for all your recs. I've finally finished watching it ("finally" I pretty much marathoned all five seasons in a couple weeks, omg), and will start checking out your recs this weekend. I'm so excited about it! (And I wasn't clear about this, but vid recs are always welcome, too.)

I went into Leverage knowing: (1) a bunch of people whose taste I really trust absolutely adore it, (2) Aldis Hodge is ridiculously hot, (3) he played a wicked smart tech geek which makes him even hotter, (4) the blonde woman was an amazing thief who liked fire, (5) it was going to give me all sorts of chosen family feelings, and (6) there was an OT3 of OT3s that I was probably going to adore. And all those things are so, so, so true.

I love Hardison and I love Parker and I love Sophie and I was so over-the-top thrilled when Jeri Ryan turned up, but the thing I did not expect was how fucking hot Eliot is. I first saw Kane as Lindsay on Angel and lawyers do not do it for me to a pretty hard core extent, and while I like his music, he's not really been on my radar.

HOLY HELL YOU GUYS ELIOT IS SO GODDAMN HOT.

Dear friends warned me about Nate's man pain, but also promised me it was fairly easy to ignore most of the time, and they were right. I even sort of liked him sometimes, but mostly I wished the team had someone else in his place. I did really enjoy his romance with Sophie, mostly because he (eventually) made Sophie happy, and I wanted her to be happy. All sorts of happy for Sophie, who is such a delight.

But mostly, y'all, the Eliot/Hardison/Parker OT3 to end all OT3s. MY HEART. I keep seeing people reference The Rundown Job as the episode that is as close to making it canon as can be without them actually saying THREESOME HERE, Y'ALL. But there are adorable moments between the three of them from the fucking pilot episode, which I did not expect, and I was sold from moment one. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

I want all the stories about post-series Leverage International, where they are pulling off heists and amazing tricks and are as snarky and adorable and hilarious and hot as ever, and Sophie has her happy ending and is off running theaters and wearing ridiculously expensive shoes and being dizzy with joy.

Parker learning about emotions just about undid me every single time it came up. I adore her.

I adore everything, Hardison's absolutely unbelievable tech, the way Eliot has that tiny little grin every time he says "come on" during a fight, Sophie's acting skill increasing by a billion when she's on a con, Parker flipping and bending through space (and basically time), Eliot picking up guns again to keep them safe, Parker's love of fire and explosives, the way Hardison looks at the two of them, how goddamn hot they all are, the list goes on and on and on. THIS SHOW. MY HEART. IT HAS GIVEN ME ALL THE FEELINGS. ALL OF THEM.

But oh my god, people, Eliot Spencer is so goddamn pretty. HOLY HELL.

When I watched the final episode, I immediately started a rewatch, which I have never done before with a tv show. In part, I wasn't done living in this world, but also, it is excellent background for writing. I managed more than 70k last month, finished a draft of my current project, and am making great progress on the first draft of my next project.

LEVERAGE, Y'ALL. <3 <3 <3

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

Have you seen any fanvids yet?

Also, it's semi-canon that Eliot Spencer may or may not have been part of Stargate SG-1 - the producers wanted him to be, just to have an in-joke.

It's a very distinctive kawoosh. (Forgive me for jumping in, but as a dedicated fan of both shows, I felt compelled to and didn't resist it.)

Sorry for the late reply, but I thought the vid I was going to rec was online and I can't find it. So here's one that is instead:

wyomingnot is one of my favorite multifandom vidders; she has several Leverage vids but Tick Tock is my current fave of hers:

I am in the rare Nate-Fan group; I have actually managed to make three other fans see why... but I think a lot of my issues around him are because he's the one I can relate to the easiest. (A lot of people tried hard to tell me NOT to watch, because of the child thing. But Honestly? I think they did it well. And I adore the functioning-SOB-alcoholic more than is sane.)

BUT!

It's the found family and the OT3 that kept me. I love them all, rare in an ensemble show, though I am cooler in my regard for Tara than a lot of people.

(Maggie, OMG Maggie, for how little she is in it, stole my heart.)

Glad you enjoyed it.

Breaking into the conversation because I wanted to say a few things. I hope it's OK. :)

I can relate to Nate, because I feel like my life would shred like that if I lost my child too. And every time they talk about Sam, my heart breaks a bit. (When Nate goes back to his apartment to retrieve Sam's family portrait and then gets caught by Sterling, my heart breaks so much.) I don't hate Nate; I just think he's a SOB. I think he's one of the rare cases of asshole that I like - which is weird for me, because I hate House and I'm just done with McKay and I'm only good with MCU Tony Stark because RDJ is an unbelievably talented actor and can sell me on the depths of his emotion. (Though don't get me started on Civil War. Can we please be over Tony Stark's daddy issues already?)

Also: Maggie! She had, like, four or five episodes total and I love her an unreasonable amount, especially given that she's Sophie's "respectable" friend that happens to get tutoring in grifting from Sophie. I desperately want to see more of this outside of the season one two-parter at the end. ("You learn and you con.")

I have complicated headcanon that I wish I had time to write about Nate having to share Sophie with Maggie every now and again (he is utterly terrified by this) and a mental story I have zero time to write about Nate and Sophie post-series accidentally getting Maggie caught up in some kind of art theft shenanigans and then all of them getting drunk and mostly-accidentally falling into bed all together at least once. (Not as a relationship, just as a thing.) But mostly on a social level, Maggie and Sophie go out without him and do all the art stuff that Nate only did on an insurance level, but that Maggie and Sophie have a deep and abiding love of.

I like these thoughts.

I am a casual Sophie/Nate/Maggie shipper. Heavier interest in Sophie/Nate&Sophie/Maggie happening though. A V where the man is the friend of one of the lady partners.

Hurray for loving Leverage. It's the show I keep going back to and you know every rewatch is just as entertaining as my first viewing. Show has mileage!

I have a terrible memory for story titles, but no one else has recced this vid yet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSP1ZGVQQMA Long After You're Gone, a Leverage tribute. I can not tell you how often I've watched but I still have all the feelings each time I see it.

I'm not sure what format you watched, but if you have access to the commentaries you might want to give them a listen. This is the one show where I ended up a fan of the behind the scenes people largely because of the commentaries. Show had excellent crew, writers and so forth.

And, and I miss it.

I've made five Leverage vids. Four of them are on ao3. One more I still haven't gotten around to posting there. Really should, since it's an OT3 vid. :)
