[fandom] MCU, X-Files, and Video Games

I am having SO MANY MCU feelings lately. Unfortunately, I don't really have any MCU writing feelings, but I want to read so many stories. Stories about Sam and Natasha, Steve and Bucky, Darcy and Thor and Jane, Tony and Pepper and Bruce and Rhodey ... I just want lots and lots of Avengers family stories. I just have so many feelings. Rec me stories? I'll put together a list of the stories I've read and loved lately, but I always want more.

I've started watching X-Files. I never watched it when it originally aired, but a few years ago, I started season one. I can't remember what interrupted that, but I only made it through a few episodes. I'm now up to episode 1.12, and I am enjoying it a lot so far. Really loving Scully's character a lot, especially when she starts to have her moments of belief.

I think I've forgotten how to blog fannishly. Um, what else, what else -- I've been playing The Last of Us lately, and it is really fun. Dog and I go to the dog park all the time. Work is stressful. Not a lot of fic writing happening, but a lot of non-fic writing.

I can advocate for mcugen, and the non-gen stories I've loved I've also been reccing on my fic recs tag!

I've got a couple of absolute favorites, some of which are less soul-destroying than others:

Life of Crime is a long Avengers-as-supervillains AU with kinky poly stuff and the best ever Clint Barton narrative voice.

This, You Protect is a deeply hilarious Bucky post-WS "stalking Steve and making sure he's okay" WIP that is super, super worth following. He's so addicted to caffeine.

The Thrice-Tenth Kingdom is this heart-stopping Natasha grows up through the Red Room and the Winter Soldier glitches story.

Some of the Colors Have to Fade is, as I describe it, "murder buddies who bone and fall in love," Bucky and Natasha post-WS. Possibly my favorite thing in the fandom yet.

I WOULD ALSO REC:

Our Numbered Days The whole series, just read them all they're SO GREAT. The first is Steve/Bucky but then the next is Bruce/Natasha/Clint (YAY RARE OT3!) and then the last one is SAM/JANE!!!!! Which is I think the only one on the AO3 and Vera murders any disputation of how great that pairing would be.

drop the needle and pray Steve/Bucky response to all the fic that have irrealistic Bucky PTSD responses, and unhealthy Steve responses to Bucky.

Crash Sites BoomBangBing does another great Bruce/Jane fic. Jane had a lot of things to be angry about after THOR2.

bringing the war home ALL READ ALL OF THESE, all gen, all focused on the ladies of the MCU, all amazing!
