So I'm having myself a little Supernatural marathon, and I have brief thoughts. This is the first time I've watched these episodes all the way through - except maybe "Time is on My Side" which I may have seen once before.

I still haven't seen the episode before this one. I guess it aired while I was in transition from my summer home to my winter home, before I had DVR set up to record it.

"Time is on My Side"

I prefer the story where Bela is just a straight out bitch who killed her very nice parents and got rich. Why must all women have sexual abuse stories in their background? Why? I wouldn't even mind if she made a deal with a demon, because that's still manipulative and cold. It's the abuse that is the problem.

I hate, too, that she breaks down on the phone with Dean and how condescending he is, though it's kind of understandable on both their ends.

I still think Sam is an idiot for sitting near open windows when he knows there's a guy harvesting body parts out there and he just STOLE his book.

Dean's quite the hot ass, but after a season full of excess misogyny, even worse than earlier seasons, I'm having a hard time liking him very much anymore. God, I hope season four is better than this shit.

Also, this episode is actually pretty boring.

I love Bobby's old contact, though.

Hey, I can hear a drumline practicing in the distance. Sometimes I love my neighborhood.

"No Rest for the Wicked"

I like Dean's hellhound dream at the beginning of the episode.

Bobby is a hot ass with his name and ritual bit.

Indiana! Woo.

Damn it, Dean, why "skanks"? WHY? WHY WHY WHY? Goddamn but I hate this season.

I just, momentarily, had the thought that I want him to go to hell so maybe he'll shut the fuck up with his misogynistic terms.

Dean, I love you, but oh, man, you're killing me.

Ruby's kind of fun. I like that she knows things and doesn't tell them and calls the boys pretty and half-cocked and is manipulative and smart. Come on, just make it through this last episode.

Also, she called her knife a pig sticker. She makes me smile.

Sam as the anti-christ superstar. It is to laugh.

YAY! Ruby just kicked ass and called Dean a dumb spineless dick. Unfortunately, he then tricked her into a circle and stole her knife, but whatever, that's part of the game, too.

"We go after Lilith our way, the way dad taught us to."
Oh, Dean. Way to tie in the family hunting and working together I love.

I'm not sure about this creepy kid thing. It's sort of, you know, overdone.

Ha ha ha. Bobby took a car part. Bobby took a car part. I love him.

"Family don't end with blood, boy."
Oh, Bobby. Sometimes, this show hits all my buttons and makes me happy beyond belief.

Unfortunately, the rest of the time it's crap.

SINGING IN THE CAR. "I'm cowboy. On a steel horse I ride. I'm wanted. Dead or alive."
God, boys, you rock.

Where the hell is Bobby when they're getting pulled over? I thought he was going to be right behind them. Oh, there's Bobby. How convenient.

Also, how convenient that Dean can now see the real demon faces. This is kind of awesome, honestly.

I love that we can hear what Sam can't, the hellhound coming for Dean. And also, even though he seems to have come to grips with his death and trip to hell, he stillr uns, he still tries tos ave himself.

And I love, love, love that it isn't Ruby and that Dean knows.

"I don't have to answer to puppy chow." Hee hee hee.

There have been a lot of deaths on this show. John's death was dramatic. Even Sam's death was dramatic last season. This? This isn't dramatic at all. This is cheesy and stupid and emotionless.

That it was the crappy season three has done to me. Made me just not give a flying fuck about them.

"Lazarus Rising" 4.01

And the cheesy and emotionless continues in the recap scene.

Okay, I do not for one instant believe Bobby didn't want to burn the body. Maybe Sam dragged his heels and won, but they burned John's body even. I don't buy it. Not at all.

I do like the coming back scene, though, and the way the sun is so bright, the colors so strange.

Title sequence is okay. Ish.

Oh, Dean. Such a hot ass. And the rough voice, because he's not spoken or drank anything. And wrapping his hand to break the glass. That's hot. He sounds a little like Batman, though, and Batman's voice in The Dark Knight was more stupid than hot.

Yes, Dean, why don't you go shirtless for awhile.

Nice handprint there.

Oh, come on, he'd so take more water than that. I love that he takes Busty Asian Beauties. And the money.

Broken glass so pretty. High pitched noise made my ears hurt.

Attractive, bloody, bruised boys hotwiring old cars will never not be hot.

BOBBY! Yay, I'm so glad he's attacking Dean. Though I'm not sure I buy that whole about the closest thing I have to a father. Currently alive, maybe, but it doesn't seem like a Dean thing to say.

Dean, why did you cut so high with your silver knife?

Oh, hard hugs with the fingers gripping so tight and the shock and the arms so tense. I love that.

Ha. I also love the holy water splash. It made me giggle.

WHY DIDN'T THEY BURN THE BODY? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?

HA! I was right! It was all Sam. Though I do wonder what he's been trying to do to get Dean back. Also, does this mean Sam loves Dean more than Dean loved John? Or more desperately? And that Dean loves Sam more desperately than he loved John? Or that the ties of siblings when they're the only ones left are stronger than that of parent to child? Or just that they've changed so much, so desperately, since season two?

Okay, Dean and Sam seeing each other again, fighting, and then hugging, that's kind of awesome.

Oh, Dean's face. That's emotion, when he's hugging his brother, and his face just quivers a little and tenses and oh, Dean.

Sam kept Dean's necklace. That's so sweet, and something I would do, too.

I love the way he's sweet talking his car. And the music fight. Hahahahahaha. Such a pretty car. I want one.

Damn, Dean's being an ass, Sam's being an ass - that's super realistic.

Car into the fog, way hot.

Woah. Bobby's psychic friend Pamela Barnes is a) hot as hell and b) feisty is hell. I like her a lot. I think there might be fic. Though I would have preferred if Jesse was a girl. Still could be, she doesn't say either way. I like how sexually aggressive she is, too. Hot as hell. I like her.

Oh good god. Why are the women always victims? Why? They couldn't have just left her being awesome? For that matter, why are the women always victims or villains? WHY?

When the scary things get scared, that's a bad sign, right? Hee.

Damn it, Dean. Must you go around hitting women? Even if they are demons, when all the women are demons or victims, it gets old when you hit half of them.

Sam can send demons to hell without going through the whole verbal ritual? That's kind of awesome.

RUBY! Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby Ruby!

Who is playing her? She's beautiful.

I like the flashy lights and the way no weapon has worked on him. And his super calm way of doing everything.

Shadow wings and no faith. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Beautiful.

Come on, Dean, why do you assume all angels are good angels?

I totally buy that he doesn't think he deserves to be saved.

Because God commanded it. Because we have work for you. Creepy as all hell.

Okay, season four, so far, is okay. Better than season three, but it's early still.

I think new Ruby is beautiful too. Maybe that's why I like her better than most people seem to?

I agree that new Ruby is beautiful. Also, the angel is hot as hell. And I like the new aspect of God somehow being involved. I'm kind of excited about this season.
