What have I been doing? Working a lot, preparing for my holiday with
thestalkycop, and watching Victoria Pratt hit things. I purchased Cleopatra 2525 and have almost finished the series (Victoria Pratt and Gina Tores!) and keep catching Mutant X on television. Pratt's characters certainly do hit things a lot. A whole lot. She looks so good doing it I of course won't complain.
Cleopatra 2525 is cheesy, silly, at times poorly written, did not have a big enough special effects budget--but I adore it. The more I watch, the more I love, and I am both so sad I'm almost done and already looking forward to rewatching it. The dialogue is often poorly written, but the characters are amazing, and I think the overall plot had a lot of potential. I wish they could have taken it farther.
I must find fiction about this show. Cleo, Hal, and Sarge were certainly having threesomes, and I really think Hal was more than a little in love with Cleo (and Sarge with both of them). I've not seen much so far, but how can there not be slash about this show? Three powerful women spending all their time together, often comforting each other physically, and the main male characters are either bad guys or their robotic helper who has no sex drive.
Come on, where is the slash?!
I think I might have to write some, myself.
Mutant X is also cheesy, silly, often poorly written, and the poor man's X-Men, but unlike Cleopatra 2525, the overall plot isn't nearly as interesting, nor are the characters well developed. I'm rather fond of Shalimar, but much of the feeling is because she's Victoria Pratt's character, and I am a big fan of the energy she brings to her characters, the quirky smiles, the physical strength, and the sexuality.
Also, she is beautiful, which I enjoy.
What have I not been doing? Writing fanfiction. I should, I have so many story ideas and the Butterfly Effect ficathon is due next month, but I haven't been. I've been working on original writing, both fiction and non-fiction, but I miss fandom writing, too, especially the stories I'm writing with
shisaiyan.
I did get part of the next chapter of "Queertet Revisited" written and sent to
thestalkycop. We have quite a bit of the next ten chapters or so written, we just need to add in specific scenes we skipped, but it's slow going these days, we're both so busy. However, two weeks from yesterday we'll be on holiday together for two weeks and will maybe do some work. I'm taking my laptop, anyway.
When I bought Cleopatra 2525, I also picked up Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (very cute, better than Stitch The Movie but not as good as Lilo & Stitch) and The Pacifier, which is still silly and Disney, but Vin Diesel remains the most sensual man on earth. Shower scene, shower scene, oooh la la.
