[fic recs] Yuletide

I started this recs list yesterday, and it's slow enough at work today that I'm going to keep reading as much as I can. (We probably should have been closed today--I certainly wish we had been closed today, I'm exhausted.)
First, the story written for me.
A Knight's Tale
"5 Firsts", a gorgeous, heartbreaking, wonderful story about Kate the blacksmith and her relationship with her dead husband and her relationship with Christiana. The scenes between the women are absolutely breathtaking and wonderful, I can't believe how much so. The whole story is terrific, the tone wonderful, the bits of dialogue perfect for the source material. I am filled with so much glee because of this story, and reading it has made me happy.
Fandoms include: 10 Things I Hate About You, Bend It Like Beckham, 1602, 28 Days Later, The Addams Family (movie), The Baby-Sitters Club, California Diaries, The Village, Ugly Betty, Tamora Pierce - Tortall series, Stick It, Stephen King - It, Stephen King - Cell, The Simpsons, and Silent Hill.
(These were written last night when I couldn't sleep, and are in alphabetical order.)
10 Things I Hate About You
"Home Videos", a beautiful, sad glimpse into the soft side of Kat, and the way she celebrates and mourns her mother.
"A Perfect Fit", a crossover with Bend It Like Beckham is two good things which are even better together. Kat and Jess and Jules are all wonderful here.
1602
"As Air", a story about Susan Storm and the way she seeks her freedom. It's lovely, and it made me want to go right out and read the canon, with which I am only vaguely familiar.
"The Naming of Things", an unbelievably wonderful story about Hank, and his philosophy, and his studies. The language is beautiful, and the character voice amazing.
28 Days Later
"The Sleep of Reason", a dark, moody alternate ending to the movie.
The Addams Family (movie)
"The Bridal Path", a sweet, funny, creepy continuation of the relationship between Wednesday and Joel.
"Have Yourself a Scary Little Christmas", a story about Joel visiting Wednesday at the holidays with a nice combination of creepy and funny.
Ann M. Martin - The Baby-Sitters Club
"The First Time", a bittersweet story about Charlotte and her crush on Stacey, with a fanastic Charlotte-voice which just blew me away.
Ann M. Martin - California Diaries
"Old Year, Unresolved", a bittersweet story about Sunny and Ducky with a spot-on Sunny voice and fantastic insight on not being wanted.
"Ducky: The College Years", a wonderful in character story about Ducky in college, and the way things are different, and the way things are the same.
(From here on is what I've done today, and I'm starting at the end of the Yuletide list and working my way up.)
The Village
"See No Evil", an enchanting, breathtaking story about Ivy Walker's past and future, with a great Ivy voice. It fits into the source material so well I almost can't believe these scenes aren't a part of the movie itself, especially the hair cutting scene.
Ugly Betty
"Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy Valentine's Day, a Fantastic Fourth, and a Rockin' Cinco de Mayo, Betty Suarez", a funny, sweet, touching story about different holidays Betty and Daniel spend together. (I'm not a Betty/Daniel shipper, but I still enjoyed this very much.)
Tamora Pierce - Tortall series
"Waking Dreams of Snow", a gorgeous story about Kel, and possible variations on her life as a warrior. The style is perfect, it fits the canon, and each version of Kel's life is absolutely believable.
"Mother Lioness", a warm, sweet story about Alanna's family life. I'm not a huge fan of the style, something just felt off about the tone to me, but I really did enjoy seeing the various changes throughout Alanna's life.
"scenes from a respectable life", a story about George and the changes he faces as he goes respectable. George has never been one of my favorite characters, though I love George/Alanna, but I quite liked him here, and the way he interacts with the Provost in the new iteration of his life.
Stick It
"Training", a short, sharp piece of Haley insulting Burt and yet wanting just a little bit more from him.
(From here on out, I haven't been able to leave comments because apparently I am spam.)
"The Dust Building Up At Our Feet", a wonderful Haley piece which captures both her depth of passion and her abrasive attitude.
Stephen King - It
"Ebb and Flow", a sweet, slightly uncomfortable, story about Beverly, with Ben, and the way not all the bad things are supernatural monsters.
Stephen King - Cell
"The Flashlight People" almost made me sick. I mean that in the best way, it was morbid and dark and disgusting, in all the best ways of classic King. It grabbed me and hurt, it was so twisted and wrong, and absolutely perfect.
The Simpsons
"Green-eyed Homer", a sweet and slightly funny story about Lisa and Homer's relationship, with some great little details.
"Five Things Maggie Simpson Never Said" is an amazing, hilarious, wonderful story about five lives of Maggie Simpson, adult or near adult. Maggie and a girlfriend. Maggie the singer. Maggie the environmental speaker. Maggie and zombies.
Yes, you read that right, Maggie and zombies.
This story is beyond awesome.
Silent Hill (movie)
"Ashes", a creepy, disturbing Sharon/Rose story told in dreams and pieces of darkness. I've wanted this pairing since I saw the movie, and this is just dark and perfect.
Woo, nearly time to go home and read some more.
