First, just a quick note to say thank you for all your comments. My mother is doing better, and though she'll continue to be ill the rest of her life, at least they're learning how to treat it so she's not in as much pain.

Dear Yuletide writer,

Thank you so much for offering to write one of the fandoms I requested. I am absolutely thrilled, Yuletide is my favorite of the holiday exchanges, and I love the way all the small fandoms come together.

I am a big fan of girl slash (not that you don't already know that from my requests). I like angst or fluff and love holiday-themed stories. I am eager to suspend my disbelief and follow whatever characterization you like to create, provided there is some root in canon from which I can extrapolate the rest. I don't mind original characters in fanfic. I love humor (and hate that I'm such crap at it in my own writing). Words are wonderful and language used in interesting ways makes me swoon.

I love women who are angry, who break things, who start fights, who solve problems. I like machines which drive fast enough to get the driver in trouble, and passionate people who obsess over things they love, and people who are very different falling in love, or at least lust.

I like horror stories and women fighting monsters and monsters as the main characters (though the fandoms I chose this year don't actually represent that love).

Details on the specific requests:

The Fast and the Furious: I find both Letty and Mia to be hot and wonderful beyond belief. There is so much potential there and I have actually already written an essay all about why I think they should be together so I won't rehash that here.

Baby-sitters Club: Dawn and Abby are my two favorite characters. I love how they are each passionate about things in their own way, and how they stand up to Kristy, who doesn't always like them very much, for different reasons. I think they are two dynamic characters who could be like fireworks together if given the chance. I love stories set where Dawn returns to live with her Mom, Richard, and Mary Anne for a year or so during high school.

A Knight's Tale: Though I love the movie, I always thought it was a shame Kate didn't get any love, when her armor design was part of what made him a champion. I like strong women doing things women aren't supposed to do, and would love to see her character expanded.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants: I am absolutely in love with any combination of the four women. I'm particularly fond of Carmen and Tibby. I like to see how friendships mutate to deal with changes.

Really, though, write something you enjoy and I will like it, too. My prompts were just that, vague prompts. If you have a story idea about the characters that you love, write that instead. It's an honor to receive fic for the holidays, and I really appreciate the time you put into the writing.

In the same vein as Yuletide, I'm just waiting for you all to post your

holiday_wishes. This is another of my favorite activities this time of year, finding wishes I can fill. Make my life easy and post your lists soon.

On that note, I should probably think about starting my holiday shopping one of these days. This is the latest I've ever let it slide without knowing at least one gift for each person on my list. I've only bought one thing so far. I used to be done shopping in July.

I have become a holiday slacker. Woo.
