Holy shit, y'all, I got two perfect stories for Yuletide in two absolutely tiny fandoms of my heart.

ETA: Oh, right, the archive is open.

Mouse Kills Cat (3073 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: 16 Ways to Kill a Vampire at McDonalds (Interactive Fiction)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Claire/Lucy (16 Ways to Kill a Vampire in McDonalds)
Characters: Lucy (16 Ways to Kill a Vampire in McDonalds), Claire (16 Ways to Kill a Vampire in McDonalds), Maggie (16 Ways to Kill a Vampire in McDonalds)
Additional Tags: Pre-Femslash, Vampires, Vampire Hunters, Canon-Typical Violence
Summary:

Lucy laughed despite herself. If it was just her, she wouldn’t be this nervous. She had been bait plenty of times – it was easy, especially at a party. One beer – not enough to get her drunk, but enough to get some blood into her face, but act like you’ve had three, and the mosquitos came swarming.

But this was also Claire’s first hunt, so Lucy was felt so tightly wound she feared she might burst. If it went badly – well, Lucy didn’t want to think about that.

The source material on this is a super cute game where you play as Lucy hunting a vampire in McDonalds, and this story perfectly captures the fun, humor, and tension of the game, has an amazing Lucy character voice, and is a great sequel to it. It references details of the game in subtle, fun ways, but can be read without knowing the source material (or at least without knowing more of the source material than the title of the game).

Finally Winning Out (2509 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Down in the Library Basement - Rona Vaselaar | sleepyhollow_101
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Cassie (Down in the Library Basement)
Additional Tags: Libraries, Literary References & Allusions, Movie Quotation(s), Yuletide Treat
Summary:

There are a lot of libraries out there in the world. Cassie isn't even remotely surprised to find out others are as interestingly occupied as hers.

The source material here is a short horror story available on both the NoSleep podcast and the NoSleep reddit, about Cassie who finds something lurking down in the library basement. This is another perfect sequel to the source material. I think it is possible to read this without knowing the source material, because it centers on a different library and a different sort of thing lurking in it (and the thing lurking is hilarious and delightful). I am utterly in love with Cassie in the original story, and the author here captured her perfectly, her voice and her sense of humor and her dedication to both her library and the things down in the basement. It's perfect and warming and sweet.

This Yuletide is a great Yuletide for me. I'm so damn lucky.

...and the Avian of Darkness (3518 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Down in the Library Basement - Rona Vaselaar | sleepyhollow_101, The Librarians (TV 2014)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Cassandra Cillian/Cassie (Down in the Library Basement)
Characters: Cassie (Down in the Library Basement), Cassandra Cillian, Ezekiel Jones, Jacob "Jake" Stone
Additional Tags: ToT: Monster Mash, Trick or Treat: Chocolate Box, Crossover, Halloween, Nighttime, Witches, Monster of the Week, Libraries, Thunderstorms
Summary:

Cassandra Cillian doesn't know that her new girlfriend, Cassie, has magical creatures living in her library basement. Cassie doesn't know that Cassandra works for the Library. When the Library's clippings book brings Cassandra to Cassie's library, things get complicated.

YOU GUYS YOU GUYS YOU GUYS YOU GUYS THIS IS THE CROSSOVER OF MY HEART. I did not know how much I needed these two fandoms to come together until I received this amazing adventure story, and it is just -- I still don't even have words. It is so great, and Cassie's voice is wonderful, and the author made the two worlds work together perfectly, and I love it. You should read it immediately, you don't really need to know much about either fandom, because the author gives you everything you need in the story itself. (You will obviously get more out of the story with canon knowledge, but I think it stands alone just fine, too.)

God, this story is so good. I can't wait to see who the author is so I can read more of their works.

A Hairy Situation (568 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: 16 Ways to Kill a Vampire in McDonalds
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Claire/Lucy (16 Ways to Kill a Vampire in McDonalds)
Characters: Claire (16 Ways to Kill a Vampire in McDonalds), Lucy (16 Ways to Kill a Vampire in McDonalds)
Additional Tags: Trick or Treat: Trick, Trick or Treat: Chocolate Box, ToT: Monster Mash, Werewolves, Fluff and Humor, POV First Person
Summary:

I blink at Claire. Then I do it again, more slowly, as if that will make this situation make sense.

Nope. When I open my eyes, she’s still looking at me apologetically, fur spreading across her face.

WEREWOLF FIC. I GOT WEREWOLF FIC. WEREWOLF FIC IN A VAMPIRE CANON. OH MY GOD YOU GUYS YOU GUYS YOU GUYS I GOT WEREWOLF FIC!

This is the sweetest, warmest, most charming story I ever could have hoped for in this canon. Lucy's voice is delightful, and I could not stop laughing throughout. And somehow, the author managed to both write a gentle werewolf transformation that still captures the body horror of it! It's fluff, and yet terrifying in just a few short sentences. I didn't know that was possible!

Seriously, I cannot stop beaming at this story, and I laughed out loud multiple times, making me very glad I'm alone in the office today. It is so much fun, and so adorable, and I love it.
