Meme: 28 Things for 2017

Killing time before I can run an errand, so I thought I'd do a meme.
1. Will you be looking for a new job?
Yes, but casually. I can stay where I am, and be happy, but I'd like more of a challenge, and I'd like to relocate to a bigger town or city that is more liberal.
2. Will you be looking for a new relationship?
I'm pretty much never looking for a relationship, I just stumble into them.
3. New house?
If I find a new job, I will look for a new place to live, but I won't be buying a house.
4. What will you do different in 2017?
Not much, actually. Everything I have planned is a part of things I am already doing, only doing them more, or better, or in a more productive way.
5. New Year's Resolution?
I don't have any. Instead I have a couple goal lists, and weekly and daily to do lists.
6. What will you not be doing in 2017?
Dying, I hope.
7. Any trips planned?
San Diego, Vegas #1, Vegas #2, Santa Cruz, Chicago, and maybe Madison.
8. Wedding plans?
One of my grad school friends gets married next year, and I'm super excited about her wedding.
9. Major thing on your calendar?
Birthday trip, bachelorette trip, writing retreat, wedding, and maybe Wiscon.
10. What can’t you wait for?
Grad school reunions (Vegas #1 and Chicago) during wedding stuff, plus some other random trips to Chicago to see grad school friends; all the writing; that amazing writing retreat with BFF.
11. What would you like to see happen differently in 2017?
I'd like to get an agent and sell a novel.
12. What about yourself will you be changing?
I'm trying to find some balance in the things I do, but I'm not really looking to change intentionally.
13. What happened in '16 that you didn’t think would ever happen?
The problem is, I expect terrible things to happen. 2016 was a dumpster fire of a year and filled with more terrible in any one year that I might have expected, but each individual thing is not a surprise.
14. Will you be nicer to the people you care about?
I always try to be as kind as I can. I'm not generally a nice person.
15. Will you dress differently in 2017 than you did in 2016?
Depends. Friend M has introduced me to amazing bespoke dresses, and I have fallen in love with them. Plus depending on if I switch to a certain work environment, I may have to go back to business casual.
16. Will you start or quit drinking?
NO.
17. Will you better your relationship with your family?
Maybe. One brother and I have had a clash, and I'd like to work out what's going on there, but up until the other day, I didn't know anything was wrong, so we'll see how that all goes.
18. Will you do charity work?
Yes.
19. Will you be nice to people you don't know?
I am polite to people I don't know (or people I've cut from my inner circle), but again, I am not a nice person. I try to be a good person and a kind person, but only succeed sometimes.
20. Do you expect 2017 to be a good year for you?
I expect the world to end in a dumpster fire.
21. How much did you change from this time last year till now?
Well, I am employed again, and medicated again, and therefore in a much better place mentally and emotionally and physically.
22. Do you plan on having a child?
Fuck no.
23. Will you still be friends with the same people you are friends with now?
I certainly hope so! I'm pretty solidly tied into my relationships; next year, my grad school friends and I hit 10 years since we met, and they're some of my newer friends who I see in person. I am trying to be a more proactive friend; I am great with relationships that lie dormant for long periods of time and then come to life when you can be together or Skype a lot or text a lot or whatever and then go dormant again, but not everyone is.
24. Major lifestyle changes?
I am trying to work more regular stretching and flexibility into my life.
25. Will you be moving?
To be determined.
26. What are your New Year's Eve plans?
No idea. We don't usually decide until same day because J is in charge, and he's not the planner that I am. Possibly we'll just stay home, drink, and watch movies. Cuddle the dog, who is terrified of fireworks.
28. Will you have someone to kiss at midnight?
Indeed.
