If you haven't played the game, it is basically two former best friends, Max and Chloe, reconnecting after five years apart while all sorts of strange things happen around them, including Max's new ability to rewind time and redo things. (Which she uses to all sorts of effect in the game.)
This story great, a fantastic combination of the atmosphere I loved in the game, and Max's personality, a great combination of confident and unsure, hopeful and afraid. All of the scenes seem absolutely believable, and Max's inner voice is fantastic, her reasons for pulling away from the kiss each time nuanced and wonderful. God, this story. I am so, so happy and grateful for it, and I hope you give it a try too, even if you don't know the source material.
