That scene on the beach was one of the hardest for me, the way they came together as a chosen family (my favorite trope has come back to break my heart), and the way both Abigail and Ollie in particular mourn and mourn and mourn. It just drove home how very much I appreciated Sammy as a character who was neither strictly straight nor strictly gay. I love you Sammy.

I don't agree with the decision to kill off a queer character, but yeah, you're right, they did not pull any punches with the emotional repercussions. I am not looking forward to season three without him, or with more Grace instead of him. Not a fair exchange there.
