Not feeling well (I think I ate something recently that didn't settle well, possibly milk that just wasn't quite right), but at least it gave me the chance to sit down and catch up on some media I intended to watch.

Including Sons of Anarch "Falx Celebri".

I really love Tara being a badass doctor. Including the little details where she's the one at the ambulance right before it shuts the doors and pulls away. I like that she has this career for which she's worked really hard and she gets to be incredibly good at it. I hope she doesn't end up having to choose between love and career, for a lot of reasons (I like her as a doctor, obviously, but I'm also growing to be really fond of her relationship with Jax, too), but mostly because I am really tired of media showing women who can only have one or the other, especially when it's some sort of clean-cut woman and a bad boy man.

Similarly, I like the growing camaraderie between Jax and Hale. It's not quite a friendship, but it's getting there, especially with Jax trying to clean up the club. The clean-cut good boy and the biker bad boy, I'm a fan. (I've just realized I am a fan of Jax/Tara/Hale, too, which I didn't expect.)

The whole dynamic between Piney, Mary, and Opie is interesting, too. Opie being a crap father right now breaks my heart a little, but is also understandable and in character. After all, last season was very much about him not fitting in with his family after getting out of prison, feeling disconnected with his children, and now that Donna's gone, and he's so deep in his mourning and his need for revenge, I can see how that wouldn't lead to good parenting.

Still, I don't want him to be shitty to his kids. Being their dad seemed so important to him last season.

Tara seems incredibly naive for someone who was so involved with Jax when they were younger. Also, her victim blaming of Gemma was bullshit.

There are some nice friendships growing and failing at the same time. Jax teaming up with Hale is more than just the club keeping cops on their bribe list when it's compared to the way his friendship with Opie is breaking down because he's keeping secrets (major secrets) from someone who's supposed to be his best friend as well as his club brother.

Opie and Jax lying to each other and knowing they're lying to each other is twisty and complicated and, okay, kinda hot, too. Jax gets hotter the closer he is to Opie. I'm beginning to think Opie's hotness just carries over to everyone around him. Sorry, I'm in motorcycle withdrawals and I think that raises the hotness factor, too.

I really, really dislike Polly and hope Gemma gets to take her out. But on the other hand, I like a woman who knows her own power and controls her own sexuality and makes her own choices. So even though I dislike her, she makes for a good antagonist. It's good to have female antagonists as well as female protagonists. Though it's still a very white male show, that's slowly getting slightly better.

God, if Jax and Opie start beating the shit out of each other, I'd be a happy, happy woman. Clay destroying things is almost as hot, though. Jesus. I have this thing for broken glass and cigars and physical expressions of anger.

Speaking of hot, Tara and Gemma is possibly the greatest part of this show. "Mind if I head home with you?" This show is going to write the slash for me, isn't it?

Oh, Christ, Hale, you're not nearly subtle enough to talk to Gemma without giving away that you know about the rape. Well, okay, so you're not even going to try, well then. And Hale keeps cutting corners and letting his need to protect people and get revenge twist how he does his job. I'm hoping this addresses the somewhat corrupt but still doing good.

Gemma's hatboxes (those are hatboxes, right?) of guns and her finding one for Tara is freaking adorable. And teaching Tara to shoot. OMG. I AM IN LOVE. YES YES THE GUIDING FROM BEHIND OMG FLIRTING WITH WEAPONS FLIRTING WITH WEAPONS.

If Gemma was a guy doing that to Tara, people would be all over this ship.

Even their sunglasses are similar. And their smirks. And the way they gleefully shoot up that car. I am in love with them!

Damn. Hale being manipulative is pretty awesome. Who knew?

Jax and Clay finding the same information from different ways cracks me up. As does the Black Van of DOOM. Subtlety is just completely out the window, isn't it?

Oh, Gemma, stop feeling guilty. Oh, honey, it's not all on you. It's not.

I agree with Opie that Jax frequently makes decisions based on his personal issues with Clay (even before Clay had Donna killed), but Clay does the same thing and the two of them doing this is putting the club into danger. Jesus.

OH FUCK. Opie. GODDAMN IT BE CAREFUL.

Well. This was an exciting episode filled with people not telling each other enough of the plan to make it useful and stupid decisions. And next week looks like really hot prison fighting, which I realize in reality is horrible, but in fiction can be fabulously hot.

Much like one of my readings of the Fast and the Furious series is that Letty is fucking both Mia and Dom, I think I can read Sons of Anarchy as Tara is fucking Gemma and Jax. Also, possibly there will be some comfort sex with Opie. Glorious. I think I need to switch out my icons and add in a Sons of Anarchy icon.
