Fandom: Birds of Prey tv series
Oct. 5th, 2010 09:37 pmI'm on the second episode and already know there won't be enough episodes for me. It's cheesy and ridiculous and so much damn fun.
Reasons I wish I'd watched Birds of Prey before tonight:
1) Shemar Moore spends time shirtless. Shemar Moore is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and I've been thinking I don't get enough of him on Criminal Minds, so this is a pleasant surprise.
2) Dinah's joy at finally finding someone like her.
3) Ashley Scott plays Helena Kyle in a way that reminds me a lot of Victoria Pratt playing Shalimar in Mutant X. So much so that I'm considering writing a crossover. Because that? That would be hot.
4) Jesse (Shemar Moore's character) and Helena have some fantastic chemistry so far. That? That is also hot.
5) At the end of the first episode, Helena and Barbara have a conversation on a rooftop that was absolutely lovely and then the soundtrack started up with Michelle Branch's "All You Wanted" (which, by the way, is used in a really excellent Shalimar/Emma Mutant X vid). Rooftop confessions and "All You Wanted" is a bit of a theme for things I write with the Girl, so that was basically the show hitting a big button of mine.
6) The Birds of Prey are so much more awesome than the Batman. (There, I said it.)
