love and luck

So southernbangel has this love meme to make Monday better and I thought, while linking to it, I would also include what I've said so far. I plan to do more later, I just have to go rebandage my leg and take some painkillers. I've made it all day without them, but oh, it hurts.

I am so lucky, so blessed, to know so many people. This is barely a drop in the bucket, and I could do a hundred more, two hundred, just go on and on.


aea is one of my oldest fandom friends. She's cheered me up and calmed me down, written me hilarious stories to make me happy, finds the greatest icons, and has just been all around fantastic for all the years I've known her. Her writing is unbelievable, creepy and obsessive and wonderful.

aphrodite_mine is currently a student where I did my undergrad (doing the same major and minor, even) and her stories about school remind me of the good things about that program and that life when I've forgotten them because I had some bad experiences at the end. She's endlessly supportive of girl slash and is always willing to explain a new show to me.

buhfly creates the most beautiful websites and images. She's hosted my site for years now, and I am so thankful to her for that, and for being my friend. She's an amazing writer, and each new story is better than the one before.

cabell convinced me to attend my first con, WisCon 30, and opened her home to me. She constantly provides humor and emotion and intelligent conversation and paranoia. She's a mix of fantastic things, and I feel priviledged to know her.

cadence_k makes me smile every time I see a post from her. She's a provider of excellent Faith slash, and general girl slash, has sweet stories about her sister, and even when she has a bad day, she always comes across optomistic and encouraging.

crazylady42 is my oldest sister and though her life hasn't been easy, she keeps pushing through it, keeps fighting and keeps trying to be happy.

crimson_keys adopted me into her family and gave me two wonderful Dads, a darling Ma, and a sister who constantly loves and encourages me. I'm so proud of everything she does, writing or career or school, and she just keeps doing great things.

fox1013 and jennyo and juleskicks all go together because I can't hardly think about one of them without the other. They constantly bring new fandoms for me to love and stories to read and topics to think about, not always pleasant, but always important, and are just wonderful women who give me hope.

impatienke is my youngest sister, and her life also hasn't been easy, but she's so upbeat about things it's hard to tell. Her music geekery is overwhelming, and her story ideas detailed and amazing.

kphoebe feeds my metal slash love (Colossus and Wolverine), and my sexy redhead love (Bill Weasley, Gambit, and Oz), and gives such good anger about the sexist treatment of women in comics, among other things. She's vivacious and works a room like nobody's business and she loves Meat Loaf.

nikitangel has fantastic taste in women (Eliza Dushku and Michelle Rodriguez, represent!), gives great tours, has a very Faith-like presence, has my favorite fandom tattoo ever, is friendly and hilarious, provides fan vids and Lost episodes whenever they're needed, will laugh and drink too much wine and still get up early the next day to attend panels, gives great advice, and just makes me smile all the time.

southernbangel remains so positive and wonderful despite anything life throws at her. She makes me appreciate life, and the BtVS fandom, and even Buffy/Angel, which I never thought would happen. She made me feel welcome in a fandom I left years ago, and does wonderful things like this love meme, and writes fantastic fic, and is just so terribly sweet.

thestalkycop is my girl, my best friend, the one who has kept me sane through all sorts of mess. We've seen the worst parts of each other's lives, and we're working on making life the best. She writes amazing stories, creates unbelievable characters, and makes me a better writer, a better person. She taught me to do handstands in the pool and encouraged me Stitch obsession and amuses me with her fear of Elvis and is constantly right there with whatever I need whenever I need it.

tags and weather

I've finally given in to the call of the tags feature, and I am obsessive and in love, which is pretty normal for me. Eventually I will have everything tagged, and I will have a list of tags in the sidebar, but oh, man, why did I hold out for so long? It makes my OCD happy, and I love making all the tags match.

Also, it's strange to see how often I talk about some things. For example, and the most surprising, I mention the weather a lot. Shock.

Actually, speaking of the weather, it rained today in the last hour of work, so I got wet riding home, but at least I didn't have any trouble. My first time with the motorcycle on wet roads, and everything went fine.

My burn continues to be disgusting and painful, but it is healing.
