Comica obscura fic sent to first beta. [livejournal.com profile] kphoebe, I owe you so much. When I am rich and famous, I will have to pay you to write stories and tell tales. Or perhaps just when I am rich, because the famous part, I'm not so sure about.

I'm later with it than I intended, but my wrists hurt so much from work. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to keep the job. I don't mind pain (carpal tunnel leads to much pain most of the time), but when I can't type, I get upset.

I've decided that the best way to avoid dealing with the sadness that your story isn't being recced is to be frantically trying to finish the story for another ficathon. I may just keep signing up for them to distract myself.

Seriously though, until last year, I'd never been a part of a ficathon and I swore I never would. Now I'm eager for the next. It really is a way to branch out through fandoms and I'm enjoying myself immensely.

My next fandom writing project is the next in the series of The Fast and the Furious ficlets [livejournal.com profile] shisaiyan and I are writing together. I had a great idea, but had to finish the Remix and then comica obscura and job hunt and all that.

Pimping:

I just signed up for
the Buffyverse Down and Dirty Femmeslash PWP ficathon. It looks like it could be a grand old time. Not to mention I've been wanting to write dirty femmeslash.

Who knew that Leonard Nimoy was actually a decent photographer? This links to the Full Body Project, photographs of gorgeous naked fat women. I'm amazed and pleased.

Remix recommendations coming soon, too.

Closer I'm Bound (the long distance remix): Four things that didn't happen to Scott Summers. Or so he pretends.

It's strange, to see the world through red. It's strange, to see the world after living it in the dark. And this, this story, these four things -- unbelievable. The final section is my favorite and just broke my heart.

Unspoken (Living in Rewind Remix): They were too late. The camp is abandoned; the mutants within it are dead. All that's left is burial duty.

Character death and romance and rotten luck. Beautiful word choice and a haunting, but truthful, scenario.

Two Measures in Three Quarter Time (Waltz, Cadenza Remix): There are things you never forget.

Oh my god. The descriptions throughout this story overwhelm and the characters (and their emotions) are so true, from the good reaction sto the bad. It's beautiful and painful and wonderful, all at once.

Tea Time in Genosha (The Negasonic Teenage Warhead Remix): Emma, Genosha, and relativity at quarter of three.

Really, not a lot to say beyond the author's summary. Emma's characterization sparks, the relativity is incorporated well, and the whole story ties together nicely.
