I realized today, as I gathered books to update my book database (what, it's a good way to keep track of what books I have, especially those in series; I haven't always kept it, but since I've been sorting and unpacking and getting rid of books [the horrors! and actually I've not gotten rid of much, just boxed them up with the intent to get rid of them, and I've never taken the next step], I thought it would be a good idea to keep some sort of track of what I have and what I need. So far it's up to 812 books, not counting the dozens of boxes of books to get rid of, and the dozens of boxes I've set aside to reread just in case I want to keep them, and the dozens I still need to open from the move [and yes, I realize it's been over a year now--holy crap, I mean, I realized, but I had no idea, I've been away from the job from hell and that life for over a year now]), I've received a lot of new books, some I ordered for myself, but some as gifts.

Ones of note I've received within the last week:

The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie (gift) (Is this the same Hugh Laurie from House?)
Cursed by Mel Odom (a Buffy/Angel novel) (gift)
Geek Love by Katherine Dunn (gift)
Mystic and Rider by Sharon Shinn (gift)
Stealing Princes by Tyne O'Connell (Cute book, sequel to Pulling Princes, which I think was better.)
Empress of the World by Sara Ryan (I enjoyed it, I want to read it again before I comment.)
The Silver Crown by Robert C. O'Brien (gift) (I'm really looking forward to this one; I love his NIMH series.)
The Lost Slayer by Christopher Golden (a Buffy novel) (gift)
Heat Stroke by Rachel Caine (I really liked the first one, so I hope this one is just as good.)
Hominids by Robert J. Sawyer
Blood and Fog by Nancy Holder (Buffy novel) (gift) (I like Jack the Ripper stories. I need to pull up a link to Sammy's Lost Boys fanfic about David meeting Jack the Ripper.)
Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown (I've never read any of her other books, but this one looked interesting.)
Moon Called by Patricia Briggs (I think [livejournal.com profile] crimson_keys recommended this, even though I didn't realize it when I ordered it; I ordered it because there was a recommendation by C.E. Murphy, who wrote Urban Shaman, which I mostly loved.)

I have nothing much to say except I love books and I'm always looking for more book recommendations. Do you have any?
