Luckily I didn't have to do much moving around, and mostly avoided letting any of them know. The auto guys might have had a clue, but they didn't say anything. Normally they would have taken bets, the guys are always betting about something.
According to this (really old) book I'm using, they are mostly very simple rock rhythms and some chord progressions. I was thinking just yesterday about how I'd like to do some blues work (I always liked the little bit of transcribed blues music I had the chance to do on the piano).
One of my problems right now is I'm not sure how what I'm doing fits into what other instruments would be doing (not that I have any plans to play with other people). I mean, technically I can look at the music and see, but I'm not able to imagine how it would sound.
I played the piano solo for too many years, and the clarinet is such a soprano-type instrument. The closest I've come is percussion work (if you look at the bass line as part of the driving rhythm), but I've not done anything in it besides keyboard-type music in years.
