(Deleting and reposting because WTF Dreamwidth? My comment was not supposed to go there.)
Will Shuester makes me want to punch him in the face at the best of times. At the worst, I could cheerfully rip his nuts off for pulling shit like the blueberries with Emma. I just - what the fuck kind of hubris makes you think you're qualified to "heal" her? Is her OCD limiting her life? Yes, but Shue, it's HER FUCKING LIFE. Just because you want her to be your lovemuffin doesn't mean you only get to help her when it looks like she'll put out.
You know who else I could cheerfully have punched? Figgins. What the everloving FUCK makes you think that two teenagers, who have anger management and authority issues and one of which made a death threat toward another student are the ones to be placed in charge of an "anti-bullying club"? More importantly, WHAT THE FUCK MAKES YOU THINK THEY'RE TELLING THE TRUTH? I am right there with Burt Hummel on this one, though I very much like the fact that Mr. Karofsky isn't an abusive homophobic father. I wish they'd do more things like that.
Kurt coming back to McKinley was bound to happen, and I suppose I'm happy they at least addressed the reasons behind it. Burt and Carole can't afford Dalton for too much longer, and yanking a kid from some of the only friends and support system he's ever had is going to do a number on him emotionally. It still felt like "well, shit, Dalton lost and New Directions are going to Nationals. Can I go back to the winning team now?".
Kind of pissed that the pretty white girls got to deal with their body-image "issues" and sing a gorgeous TLC cover, and Mercedes yet again only gets to have weight issues when it benefits Quinn. Lea and Dianna sounded fucking gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but "Unpretty/I Feel Pretty" should have gone to Mercedes and Tina. Because apparently you can develop an eating disorder for one episode and get it cured by a pretty white girl with a granola bar?
(I never notice racial fail so much as on Glee. It's really strange, but it makes me super aware of how much white privilege I have, and how shitty they treat their minorities.)
Karofsky. Jesus fucking Christ, if I start on Karofsky (especially his fantwats), I will be here all day. But I will say this - Max Adler is an excellent actor, and really puts a lot into his performance. In the hands of a lesser actor, I wouldn't give a shit about the character enough to either hate or be intrigued by him. I liked his scene at the coffee shop with Santana, and I liked his scene with Kurt in Figgins' office. He brings a lot of honesty to the role, and I wish we could have like, a dream sequence, or something so we could see him sing. But "redemption"? Sorry, fantwats, you have to honestly want to change for the right reasons before you get that.
Things that made me smile:
Mike Chang dancing and smooching his girlfriend. Lauren fucking Zizes pulling a B&E and running for Prom Queen. Puck being honest and having no sketchy reasons for being nice to Rachel. The flash mob to "Barbra Streisand". Puck and Kurt planning said flash mob. Kurt rocking the fuck out of the Broadway Diva ouvre again with a note-perfect "As if We Never Said Goodbye". Cory fucking Monteith blowing "I've Gotta Be Me" out of the water. Emma taking some definitive steps toward treating her OCD even though she was scared to death. DARREN OH MY GOD DARREN STOP MAKING ME CRY WITH HOW AWESOME AND SWEET YOU ARE. Kurt hugging Mercedes every five minutes. Tina the Asian sex symbol (uh, sweetie, how do you not know Maggie Q or Lucy Liu or Michelle Yeoh?). Brittany's "lebanese" t-shirt for Santana.
And as racefaily and derivative as the song is, "Born this Way" was lovely. Chris and Jenna and Amber should be doing ALL THE GAGA.
