I recently marathoned my way through season one, then saw last night's episode, and I have to say: I think he's horribly written, and his entire use is to either a) give the audience a theme for the episode, b) try to have a teaching moment that nigh invariably turns out failtastic (witness last night's ableist fuckery), and c) turn into an asshole when he doesn't get his way.

That said, I love Emma. LOVE HER. I kind of want her to turn into this powerhouse vocalist and start teaching. Or just take over. I also have no problems with her polishing her fruit. So what if she wants to polish all her fruit before she eats it? Also, if she really were spending 48 out of 50 minutes disinfecting her chair at the therapist's office, she would not be able to be functional at a high school, which is full of teenagers who mostly could give a fuck about spreading germs. I would like some realism in the middle of the show where everyone breaks into song randomly, yes.

(I really want them to bring Idina Menzel back and have her be their Glee Club teacher, but that's not going to happen.)

That all said, I really love Santana. She may be my favorite character on the show.
