I know, I'm really sad for Mia, and the way she's so alone and taking what she can get. That's not enough for her, she deserves a lot better.
I'm hoping to explore this dynamic a lot more throughout these stories, because while I do see Mia as somewhat attention-starved, because everyone comes to Dom, he's the center, I don't think she's weak. There's more to her than just wanting to be loved, than wanting to be the center of someone's world, though I think she does want that very much.
I don't really see the Mia/Letty relationship as healthy (though I also didn't see Letty/Dom as all that healthy, or even Mia/Brian, either, so I guess an unhealthy Mia/Letty relationship fits the pattern) for Mia or for Letty. I think there is a lot going on beneath the surface of it, and I just hope I'm able to make it clear through my writing.
Of course, clear doesn't mean happy. When I finish these, I think I want to explore a healthier, happier version of their relationship. They both deserve more.
