Yuletide is my favorite fannish time of year, and I can’t wait to read your story. It brings me great joy to write stories for people for Yuletide, and I hope that you have a lot of fun and a wonderful experience writing for me. I’m on DW, LJ, and AO3 as escritoireazul.

Below, I’ve provided some general likes and Do Not Wants, and then my individual fandom requests, with prompts and reasons why I like the fandoms and characters. If there is a discrepancy between the general likes and DNWs and the fandom-specific information, go with the fandom-specific information. Feel free to mix and match prompts, within a fandom or across fandoms, or to ignore my prompts completely.

I’m always down for adding werewolves to a fandom. Always.

General Information

For Yuletide, I prefer happy, joyful stories. I cannot handle character death this time of year, particular the death of a mother figure. Even if it’s in canon, I would really prefer the story either be AU to that death or simply not touch on it much. (This is particularly applicable to the Long Live the Queen request.) I like all fic ratings, stories with and without sex, and both gen and romantic stories.

Confident - Demi Lovato (Music Video)
Source material: Music video

Notes: I don’t care if you name the characters after the actors’ names, but I’m not looking for RPF here, and would prefer any real life information about the actors not be included. I love this video because it packs a lot into just a few minutes, and it combines many of my favorite things: action! adventure! exposing secret government organizations! badass women hitting things! riding motorcycles off into the sunset! Michelle Rodriguez!

Prompts:

I have so many questions about this music video! What is this branding program? Are there more women out in the world carrying that mark? Are they just normal people tagged as criminals and then exploited? Are they scientific experiments? Where do Michelle and Demi’s characters go at the end of the vid? Is this some sort of post apocalyptic world?

There’s an easy crossover with the Fast and the Furious series, and that’s fine if you want, but I really want the focus on the characters as they appear in this video.

That collar necklace Demi’s character puts on, is that a tracker? Something to electrocute her? There’s a Terminator-esque look to her after she gears up, and I would be happy to see that explored.

I love how absolutely powerful Michelle’s character comes across. She has some fancy flippy moves, but a lot of her fighting is just powerhouse blows. Totally here for all the f/f slash, too. I would love future fic where they’re off saving the world and kicking ass and fucking, and maybe finding other women marked like they are. While I am super curious on what the main dude’s plan is here, and would love to see that explored, I really want the focus to stay on the two women, their adventures, and what they find out.

Kisses & Curses (Video Game)
Source material: Graphic novel romance mobile game with a canonical bisexual main character, Julie Grier, who is a witch trying to save the world from wild magic. In game, she can team up with various characters, including her best friend, Melanie, who is also a witch, and her hot neighbor, Ty, who is a human.

ETA 10 October: I have just finished my first playthrough, romancing Melanie, and started on a second, with Melanie and Anastasia as the companions, and Anastasia as the romance. Additional things I loved after the first playthrough: the way the spell makes their hearts beat together, the way Julie can feel their heartbeats inside (and they can, too), the way Julie is so excited about having the world open before her, but nervous, too, because she's been trapped in one place her entire life, and never thought she would have a future away from it.

For sexy threesome prompts, I'd love to see something at the ball. Canonically, Melanie and Julie sneak off to hook up, and then Ty, Melanie, and Julie sneak off to talk secretly about witches and magic and who is out to get them, and I'd love more fraught sexy times for them.

I'm also really interested in what comes next for them. Melanie is off to Paris to start her shop, and Ty now knows about magic and witches, and Julie is free from her hometown. I want to see them keep having adventures, maybe little things like showing Ty the good side of magic, or everyone helping Melanie in her shop, or quiet times where they try to figure out what comes next, now that their lives are all shaken up.

Notes: I have not yet finished my first playthrough of this game (I am about halfway through with Melanie and Ty as Julie’s companions), but don’t worry about spoiling me. I should be done before story reveals, and even if I’m not, I don’t care about being spoiled for this game. I’m also aware that my prompts may be addressed by the canon at some later point in the game. Feel free to include that or to go off on your own worldbuilding if you’re inspired by those prompts. (In fact, I’m looking for an applicable Let’s Play or similar playthrough, but haven’t found one yet.)

I love, love, love Julie and Melanie’s friendship throughout the game, and especially on the playthrough where Julie teams up with Melanie and Ty to save the world. I do ship Julie/Melanie hardcore, but I am also eager to see Melanie/Julie/Ty that keeps Melanie a lesbian but addresses how close the three of them get while working together and casting spells together and traveling the world together. I am also down for Julie/Ty and Julie/Anastasia (though Anastasia isn’t in the tagset, so I don’t expect her to be included, but would be happy to see her if you want to write about her too), with Melanie being a supportive and wonderful and important BFF. I would prefer Rhys and Niklas have smaller roles in the story, if any.

Prompts: Melanie and Julie have been best friends since they were ten, and Melanie’s loved Julie almost as long. I’d love to see high school witches, secret spells, makeouts if you want to have them dating before the game starts (which is just fine with me). I bet they got up to ridiculous adventures together, both with and without magic.

While trying to save the world, they’ve been attacked by hunters, by monsters, by the Witches Council trying to convince them to stop -- people have been hurt and killed. They spend many long nights in hotels and guestrooms. Julie has nightmares. There’s a lot of close bonding between Julie and Melanie in particular, but also between Julie, Melanie, and Ty (when he is their third). We get to see some of the ways they handle it (by fighting, by drinking, by having nightmares), but I’d like to see more of them (Julie and Melanie or Julie, Melanie, and Ty) being close and needy with each other (sexually or not), scared and huddling together for comfort, cracking jokes and telling stories to get through their doubts and their fears.

I love Julie’s relationship with her sisters, and would be so happy to see more of that. What were they like growing up together? What kind of trouble did they get into? Once they started to separate, what was it like when the sisters came back to visit? How did Julie overcome any bitterness at never being able to leave their hometown.

Why can’t Julie leave their hometown anyway? I mean, I know the in-universe reason given at the beginning, but it starts to fall flat when she leaves to save the world and her aunt comes to cover for her and protect the town from the starfalls. Why can her aunt leave the place she’s protecting? Why is Julie initially bound to one location instead of traveling to protect more places from the starfall?

Long Live the Queen (Video Game)
Source material: Long Live the Queen visual novel role playing game. The game follows Elodie, a princess whose mother has just died, leaving her on the cusp of becoming queen. As you play Elodie, you make decisions about what she will study and what she will do in order to prepare to be queen and survive until her coronation. Elodie's personality and mood changes based on the choices you make, and she's surrounded by complicated rules and people with their own agendas. Here are some written playthroughs showing different choices and character interactions.

Requested character(s): Elodie (Long Live the Queen)

Notes: I am so intrigued by Elodie's interactions with various characters, and want more than the little pieces we get. I particularly enjoy the flirtation that takes place between Elodie and Brin in some scenarios, as well as Elodie's adventures with Briony in the forest. At the heart of it, though, I love Elodie and all the different ways she tries so hard to survive and become queen, and I would love to see stories of her adventures during this time or after she's crowned, with her choices always being the core to who she is and who she will become.

Prompts:

In one potential ending, Elodie and Brin's flirtation leads to Elodie marrying Brin's brother, Banion, and remaining close with Brin. I would love to see more of this, Elodie and Brin's flirtations, how Brin and Banion navigate being involved with the same person, scenes at balls and parties with nuanced flirtations and layers of meanings. (For this threesome only, I'm down for incest between Brin and Banion so long as Elodie is a beloved and welcomed third.)

Elodie and Briony having all the adventures, as girlfriends or snarky best friends. Briony can be the muscle (she brags about her prowess) and Elodie can be the magic. Monsters and dangerous spells and haunted forests, beware, Team Lady Warriors to the rescue.

Elodie goes through a lot just trying to survive until her coronation. I can't imagine life settles down too much after that, either, and I'd love to see some of the things that come up during her life. What new things does she learn? How goes the magic training? What secrets lurk within her own palace walls?

Sometimes, Elodie ends up with a spy musician, Sabine. What sort of intelligence does she bring Elodie once Elodie is Queen? They have layers of interactions, secrets within secrets. Does Elodie woo Sabine? Secret meetings, songs that seduce as much as share secrets. Secret, stolen moments during parties (to whisper, to woo).

Turn of the Story - Sarah Rees Brennan
Source material: Turn of the Story is a novel by Sarah Rees Brennan available for free online; this is the master post with links to all the parts (and notes about the sequel, a short story in an anthology). It is, in SRB's words, the story of the grouchiest boy in fantasyland, all about Elliot Schafer, a boy from our world who is called upon to protect a world of magic and monsters. Elliot, along with Serene-Heart-in-the-Chaos-of-Battle, an elf girl warrior, and Luke Sunborn, a human boy warrior, lives and learns at a training camp, finding ways to change the world as he does.
Requested character(s): Louise Sunborn

Notes: Elliot, Serene, and Luke are wonderful characters, but we get a good chunk of story about them in the source material. We don't see a lot of Luke's family, particularly his sister, Louise, but I fell in love with her from the first moment she arrived, a golden lioness at the family picnic. I want to know so much more about her story. I want to read about her adventures and her lovers and her view of the world. Having the other characters along for the ride would be an excellent bonus.

I really do love Elliot, Serene, and Luke, too, and ship the three of them together hardcore. (My first real OT3, I think. They are wonderful.) Having them be a part of Louise's adventures would be wonderful, too, if you want to write about them as well.

Prompts: Louise is often described as being like a lioness, and I think this is brilliant, the golden warrior. This is a land of magic and monsters. Of course I'd love to see Louise the lion shapeshifter, or fighting alongside great talking beasts. Where are the werewolves in this magical world?

Louise is 18 when the story starts. What sort of adventures did she get up to when she was younger and first training to be a warrior and defender of the realm? What about as she keeps having adventures as she grows older? Does she, too, end up fighting alongside the elves, with a swordsister of her own (and all the physical closeness that can imply)? Louise's first command, as a lieutenant leading the 15th troop, takes place in the second year of the story, but where does she go from there? How far through the ranks does she rise?

The harpies are lion-sized eagles, and Louise's younger brother ends up being part harpy. Does she go off with Luke to have all sorts of adventures with the harpies as he learns to adjust?

Louise's friends are always over at the Sunborns' home, especially during the summer. I want to know more about her beautiful friends and the adventures they have, their fighting and swordplay, their laughter and fun.
