[article rec] redefining adulthood

From [livejournal.com profile] musesfool, "Up With Grups: The Ascendant Breed of Grown-Ups Who Are Redefining Adulthood." I don't know that I agree with everything in the article, and it's still trying to define people slightly older than me, which continues to make me wonder how my generation is defined, but some of it sounds familiar and it made me laugh.

Long day at work, lots of problem solving, and then about 3 p.m., a nice crash of energy and caring. A slump, I guess you could call it, and frustration because of the lack of direction, bla bla bla, perfectionist, will I never figure out how to control this? Anyway, slump, so I got dinner and came home, and now, almost five hours later, I'm starting to settle and feel a little better.

I need to get rid of some books. Maybe I should call my sister, see if she wants to go through the discard boxes. Maybe I should just go buy a Corona.

The Grups article disturbed me. I don't see anything wrong with grups staying current with the latest music and whatnot, but these people seem reluctant to take on any kind of responsibility. They mostly just seem selfish. I hope this trend doesn't catch on.
