writing and tape measure

Have you seen the Where the Bloody Hell Are You ad for Australia? It totally looks like an advertisement for an Australian horror story. I really want to write it, too.

(Oh, wait, been there, done that. There's a short story in the collection about an Australian monster. Fun.)

I've been at my current job way too long. One of my gifts this past winter holiday season was a measuring tape, because I complained that I didn't have one at work which was long enough to measure all the doors. (Yeah, okay, the one at the front counter is tiny.) Because I'm a bit slacker, I've only just now taken it out of the package and IT'S SELF LOCKING! SELF LOCKING!

It is also neon green and black. I love it so much.

You know, sometimes measuring tape makes me happy too.

*grins*

Ha. Oh God, that ad has been making news here for ages. First, because... well, just because it was being released, and then because it was being banned at certain times/in certain media in Britain because of the word 'bloody' (because it's not like British TV uses the word, oh, ALL THE BLOODY TIME), and then it also ran into problems in Canada for use of the word 'hell', as well as the fact that it shows a guy drinking unbranded beer, and you apparently can't show unbranded beer in advertising on Canadian television. Oy.

*still can't believe it was Canada that objected to the word 'hell'*

Measuring tapes are awesome.
