Fandom: Dear Yuletide Author Letter
Completed on October 27.
Dear Yuletide Creator,
It’s my favorite fannish time of year: Yuletide.
Do Not Wants and general likes, followed by fandom-specific details, below. If there’s a discrepancy between the DNWs/general likes and the fandom-specific details, go with the fandom-specific. Mixing and matching fandoms and prompts more than welcome.
My absolute favorite things: werewolves, crossovers and alternate universes (the stranger and more unusual the better), and monsters and magic.
I’m
escritoireazul.
General Likes
+ stories about women, including f/f, gen, and het
+ werewolves, werewolf packs as families, and werewolf alternate universes in any canon
+ Halloween and horror movies, particularly horror movie alternate universes in any canon
+ chosen families and adoption stories where adoption is treated as totally normal, adoption and chosen families = real families, and the adoption is not a BIG DRAMATIC SECRET
+ alternate universes, a non-exhaustive list: werewolves, witches and witch hunters, IN SPACE, horror movies, haunted summer camps, ghost hunters (including this state-mandated idea), portal fantasies, monsters, canon divergence, weird west/wild west (I particularly like the outlaw feel of it, untamed and wild, big spaces with nowhere to hide, big woods claustrophobic around you, danger at every turn, as long as the AU avoids the magical Indian/savage Indian/white savior bullshit that can show up in weird west and westerns in general)
+ polyam families, threesomes, foursomes, and moresomes, in all configurations (Vs, triangles, dodecahedrons)
+ monsters of the week, casefic, adventure stories, mysteries
+ friends and family teaming up to save the world, particularly on road trips
+ crossovers and fusions so long as my requested characters are the main characters
+ tropes, a non-exhaustive list: wilderness survival, huddling for warmth, forced proximity, friends to lovers, enemies to friends (to lovers), there’s only one bed oh no, fake dating, survival horror, abandoned ships, burial at sea, burial by fire, crashed on a deserted island, ghost ships, not-so-safe harbour, locked-room mysteries, came back wrong
+ kink (female top/dom only except for biting and bloodplay): biting, light bondage, impact play, rough body play, bloodplay for supernatural characters, fireplay, marking, sensory overload, orgasm denial/control, pegging
Do Not Wants
+ stories focused on dealing with discrimination (racism, sexism, biphobia, fat hate, ableism, etc.)
+ character bashing or villainizing
+ rape, non-con, and dub-con
+ embarrassment/humiliation

+ permanent character death for my requested characters
+ incest
+ big age difference in romantic relationships (except for supernatural characters), particularly an older man/younger woman

+ pregnancy, including mpreg
+ spiders
Requests
Gunpowder Milkshake (2021): any (Anna May, Florence, Madeleine, Sam, Scarlet)
Renault Clio “30 Years in the Making” Commercial: any (Gemma, Sieza)
Sweetheart (2019): Jenn
Tremors (1990): Earl Bassett, Rhonda LeBeck, Valentine “Val” McKee
Vampire Academy (2014): Lissa Dragomir, Rose Hathaway
Willow (1988): Airk Thaughbaer, Madmartigan, Sorsha
Gunpowder Milkshake (2021): any (Anna May, Florence, Madeleine, Sam, Scarlet)
What I Like About the Source Material: The characters, the adventures, how feminist it feels, how a man is killed to drive a woman’s story and not the other way around, chosen murder family, the visuals (the colors, the camera angles, the fight choreography), the library, the story itself. The characters and their relationships the very most.
Prompts:
Post-canon adventures: Chosen family all the way here. Murder family road trips. Assassins raising a child together whether or not that child wants to become an assassin, whether or not they agree to train her. What it means to be a mostly former assassin now trying to live a kill-free life somewhere warm with her chosen family. Hunting down men in power because men in power were the monsters all along.
AUs and crossovers: Women werewolf pack. Monster hunters. Surviving horror movie scenarios (summer camp horror, haunted house, cursed objects, monsters on a spaceship). Assassins in space, jumping from planet to planet. Madeleine survives. The library leads to other worlds. Leverage AU.
Ship-driven: Scarlet and Anna May dealing with the fallout of coming back together after that real bad breakup it’s easy to read into their canon interactions. Romance on the road. Sneaking off into dark corners to hook up when your daughter and adopted granddaughter are on this road trip with you. Early romance before Sam came along, young murder women falling in love.
I ship Anna May/Scarlet, Florence/Madeleine, and Anna May/Scarlet/Florence/Madeleine.
Renault Clio “30 Years in the Making” Commercial: any (Gemma, Sieza)
What I Like About the Source Material: One of the sweetest queer girl stories I’ve ever seen. Gemma and Sieza’s path from shy greeting as children to young lovers taking risks to adults finally having a second chance at romance. Beautiful visuals. Their sweet smiles and kisses.
Prompts:
I’d like this to be light on the angst, especially tied to the apparent homophobia Gemma faces from her dad or to Sieza’s marriage. I prefer a bisexual/pansexual/queer Sieza who actually did love her husband to a Sieza who feels forced to hide her sexuality through a marriage to a man.
Canon and post-canon adventures: Seaside adventures as children, as teens in love, as adults taking their own child to the beach. Secret teen dates, sneaking off to kiss, love letters when they’re apart. How they make a new life together as adults when they each have their own adult lives separately.
AUs and crossovers: Surviving horror movie scenarios (haunted houses, creature features, slashers). The girls run away and get stranded in the wilderness together. IN SPACE! Ghost hunters. Weird west stories. One or both of them are secret monsters, or secret monster hunters, or a secret monster and a secret monster hunter. Sweet, careful Jaeger pilots who didn’t expect to fall in love after learning they’re drift compatible. Vampire slayers. Superheroes.
Ship-driven: Adult second chance romance. Teen road trip romance. All their dates between their first kisses and separating. All the kisses that come after they get back together. Love letters, stolen private moments as teens, as adults. Awkward, sweet, over-the-top, quiet proposals.
Sweetheart (2019): Jenn
What I Like About the Source Material: Jenn carries the bulk of this movie by herself, and she is a wonderful protagonist, smart and strong, driven to survive, and completely engaging. The horror is nicely handled, the threat of the creature, the difficulty of surviving being stranded on a deserted island even without the creature.
Prompts:
Post-canon adventures: Jenn becomes a cryptozoologist and tries to create ways for creatures and humans to live in peace. The way the creature wounds her infects her with strength and speed and enhanced senses and she has to fight new monstrous desires. Everywhere she goes, Jenn now looks for creatures -- and finds them. Jenn finds other survivors of creature attacks, and they bond, they team up, they fall in love.
AUs and crossovers: IN SPACE! Survival horror on deserted (or “deserted”) planets. Haunted spaceships, creatures picked up on alien planets. Jenn lives through your favorite urban legend. Mermaids come to Jenn’s aid, but they are also fanged and angry and tempting.
Ship-driven: Jenn finds and falls in love with survivors of other creatures. Jenn has to explain to her next partner why she avoids the water and wakes up from nightmares of being dragged down into the dark and deep.
Tremors (1990): Earl Bassett, Rhonda LeBeck, Valentine “Val” McKee
What I Like About the Source Material: Rhonda and her nerdery and her science. Underground monsters hunting through vibrations is terrifying and perfect. Excellent mix of humor and horror. The fun give and take between Earl and Val.
Prompts:
Post-canon adventures: Learning to live after surviving literal monsters. Mindy charmed by Rhonda’s intelligence, science geekery, and general badassery and that hero worships carries her into science herself. Rhonda, Val, and Earl adjusting to living together, traveling together, loving each other. Rhonda uses science to track down other creatures, and Earl and Val go along for the ride to support her and help where they can. Teaming up with other scientists to track more animals no one believes exist (in the ocean, in the desert, in space).
AUs and crossovers: IN SPACE! Space science. Even weirder weird west with magic and hauntings and the supernatural. cryptozoology trying to find balance between monsters and humans. Survival horror in different settings. Rhonda’s brought in when seismological events hint at trouble for Jurassic World. The real secret of the small desert town is that everyone living there are werecoyotes.
Ship-driven: Earl/Rhonda/Val threesome. Rhonda living her best scientist life while Earl keeps their home and Val jumps from odd job to odd job. Romance novel shenanigans, the scientist and the cowboys. Sex games. Sex and comfort after nightmares.
Vampire Academy (2014): Lissa Dragomir, Rose Hathaway
What I Like About the Source Material: The friendship and bond between Lissa and Rose. Teen girls surviving high school and supernatural killers at the same time. How Lissa is brave and haunted by the past and her powers, and Rose is brave and loyal and also haunted by Lissa’s past and her powers.
Prompts:
I do not know book canon.
Canon and post-canon adventures: Lissa starts to step into her role as a princess, and Rose has a lot of work ahead of her to keep Lissa safe. Other people want to use the bond between Lissa and Rose and find ways to twist them apart until they manage to fight their way back together. Social dynamics change after Lissa’s big speech, sometimes in good ways, sometimes in bad ways. Lissa misses what it was like out in the human world and figures out how to get Rose (and maybe others) to go with her again. Girls on the run road trip adventures trying to pretend to be human and Normal Teenage Girls.
AUs and crossovers: Survival horror. Lissa the Space Princess, Rose her guard. Lissa is a princess locked in a tower, and Rose comes to rescue her. Fairy tales and myths turned on end.
Ship-driven: Lissa/Rose are in love before they run, whether or not they both know it, and the romance and sex comes about while they’re running and sharing blood. Erotic blood drinking. Polyamory with Christian and Dimitri, where it is Christian/Lissa -- Lissa/Rose -- Rose/Dimitri, with the core of it (at least within your fic) being the deep love between Lissa and Rose.
Willow (1988): Airk Thaughbaer, Madmartigan, Sorsha
What I Like About the Source Material: Sorsha and her swords, her battle strength, her drive to prove herself to a mother that disregards her at every turn and only uses her for her powers. Her shock when Madmartigan compliments her under the spell, and her shock and anger when he takes it back after. The way she leaves her mother’s side, as loyal as she’s been, to save the world. Former friends and current enemies teaming up to save the world. Warriors falling in love. The worldbuilding, the magic -- just everything.
Prompts:
I’d like everything to be an Airk survives AU, but you can leave him out if you prefer.
Post-canon adventures: Sorsha the awkward parent and Madmartigan (and Airk, if this is a he survives AU) the completely competent parent. Magic brings new battles. Sorsha (and Airk) go off to war leaving Madmartigan to protect Elora Danan and their home. Sorsha the warrior queen and the people who support her. There are cursed objects everywhere and they must find a way to make the castle safe.
AUs and crossovers: IN SPACE! Hunting monsters, becoming monsters. Sorsha the werewolf. Madmartigan and/or Airk the werewolf or werebear or wereboar. Bavmorda at least temporarily wins and they run the resistance, Madmartigan and Airk are captured and Sorsha has to rescue them and then hurt/comfort after. Bavmorda makes a mistake and turns them into some sort of predator instead of pigs, and the traits of the predator lingers after. Bavmorda banishes Elora, and Sorsha and the team have to find another way to defeat her. Superheroes. Jaeger pilots.
Ship-driven: Airk/Madmartigan/Sorsha threesome, with or without Airk and Madmartigan as exes, sword fighting as foreplay. Sneaking off around the castle to find privacy as Elora grows up and keep interrupting them. Sorsha topping the hell out of Madmartigan (and Airk). Sorsha and Airk topping the hell out of Madmartigan.
