Fandom: Anniversary

Huh, apparently I haven't posted about it at all this year, but 2019 marks the 20th year since I first started posting fic online. I can't believe it's been so long, but at the same time, it feels like I should have written so much more. I thought I'd do some sort of celebration when I hit 20 years, but this year has been such an explosion of family and work issues that I haven't even thought about it until just now. Ah well.

Finding online fandom in the late 90s was one of the best things I ever did, and I will remain grateful for it until my dying day.

it's been a bit over 20 years since I also stumbled into online fandom, and the experience has brought so much to my life - and continues to do so.

Thank you! Sometimes it boggles me how much goodness online fandom has brought to my life. Terrible things, too, especially on a high level look at how fandom grows and changes, but on a personal level, it has been amazing.

I hadn't really thought about it, because I had such a gap after my first discovery of the net and fanfic at uni before actually having home internet access and getting back into it that I'm not sure what would count...
