Hee. I really like this series, and most of what she writes as Mira Grant. I have some reservations about her books sometimes (this series in particular has some unaddressed colonialism and white savior issues), but I love the characters A LOT, particularly the narrator of this book, and the story is really a rollicking adventure so far.
There's a standalone ghost story collection, SPARROW HILL ROAD, that is a part of this universe but doesn't directly fit into the plot. I think that's a great place to start, both because it is fun and because it gives a good sense of what McGuire's storytelling and writing are like.
(Everyone raves about her main series, the Toby Daye series, but I have little interest in the fey, and so I don't read it.)
