Here via the daily_snitch. Excellent post! It actually works the same with me. Although I'm not a writer, as a reader I can enjoy various interpretations of characters and their pairings and every single one shines a new light on this specific character/pairing and gives me something the writer sees in them that I perhaps haven't noticed before. So, I can say 'yes' to mistful's Neville-hate, because she sees him in such a negative light that I fully agree with her (on her Neville). Otoh I can adore ajhalluk's Neville because she perceives him in a totally different way. I can for the life of me not decide whether any of them is 'right', the truth may lay somewhere in the middle, but both give me something to think about and make my own interpretation of his character richer than it would have been without them.
